• Excellent negotiation, commercial and analytical skills; ability to identify and capture margin opportunities.
• Deep expertise in gemstone grading, quality and authenticity assessment.
• Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor rather than in a conventional people-management structure.
• Frequent international travel readiness is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end gemstone sourcing and procurement, from vendor identification to large-scale buying at optimal commercial terms.
• Build and manage a strong vendor and supplier network across key gemstone-sourcing markets, negotiating pricing and ensuring continuity of supply.
• Own quality control and authenticity assessment for all sourced gemstones, ensuring grading and QC standards are consistently met.
• Track market trends, pricing movements and competitor sourcing strategies to inform buying strategy and identify margin opportunities.
• Partner cross-functionally with design, merchandising and category teams as the subject-matter expert on gemstones.
• Mentor and upskill the existing procurement team, bringing greater structure and expertise to the function.
