Xactly Corporation, part of the Vista-backed group, is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer - Adoption to collaborat e with clients and internal teams to drive adoption of Xactly’s Intelligent Revenue Platform. You will craft templates, AI agents, and playbooks, guiding customers through best practices and scalable solutions.
The role emphasizes strong consulting and domain expertise in sales compensation, with frequent interactions at the Director level and above across enterprise customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 4–6 years in tech consulting or related fields.
- Domain background in Incentive Compensation Management or Sales Performance Management, or both.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into solution designs and guide deployment decisions.
- Strong business acumen with understanding of the SDLC and relational databases.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL development and comfort with agentic workflows.
- Experience with enterprise integrations and troubleshooting in complex environments.
- Leadership and the ability to drive end-to-end customer outcomes on projects.
Responsibilities
- Directly work with customers to improve adoption of Xactly products and establish best practices, templates, AI agents, and playbooks at scale.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to continuously improve offerings.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer - Adoption at Xactly Corporation, you’ll be responsible for a mix of working directly with customers to improve their adoption of Xactly’s products and address issues as well as proactively establishing best practices, templates, AI agents, and playbooks to enable adoption at scale. This position will also play a key role in working with Xactly’s Product Management and Engineering teams to continuously improve and enhance our offerings.
Client interactions will typically be at the Director level and above at companies who expect a high level of customer service. We are seeking an individual with strong consulting experience, excellent communication, and customer management skills, preferably with domain expertise in sales compensation or management and experience with any programming language or skills with relational databases. Experience working with enterprise-level AI solutions and/or custom agents is also highly beneficial.

Travel: Occasional, but not a regular part of the job responsibilities
Xactly’s Customer Value Consulting team is a mix of technical consultants and SPM experts from industries including SaaS, financial services, and incentive compensation. They’re a group of driven, highly motivated, self-starters who have the ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fluid environment. They are fast learners who possess the business savvy to execute complex projects in all client verticals and interact with any customer persona. The CVC team are the foremost experts on effective usage and adoption of Xactly products and members of the team are expected to live that example on a daily basis.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 4-6 years in Technology Consulting, Business Analysis, Implementation, or related fields. You should also have domain background in Incentive Compensation Management, Sales Performance Management, or both.
Solution Architecture: Ability to translate customer requirements into solution designs, guiding clients through decision-making processes and consulting on best practices for deployment.
Technical Acumen: Strong business acumen matched with technical problem-solving skills, including a deep understanding of the SDLC and RDBMS data structures.
Data Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SQL development. You should also be an “AI native” employee who’s comfortable creating and using agentic workflows both internally and with customers.
Integration & Troubleshooting: Proven experience with system integrations and troubleshooting complex technical hurdles in enterprise environments.
Leadership: Ability to work as a functional lead on assigned projects, overseeing technical work as needed while driving successful customer outcomes. Many of your customer projects would have you as the only resource and you must be able keep projects on track as well as handle the end to end workflows.
Soft Skills: Outstanding service-orientation and attention to detail with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a larger team. This role is highly customer-facing and entails daily interactions with a variety of customer personas.
