Job summary

Olectra Greentech Limited seeks a seasoned Lead Field Quality professional to monitor and improve field performance of EV buses and trucks. You will drive rapid issue resolution, reduce warranty exposure, and coordinate with customers, service teams, manufacturing, and suppliers to implement effective CAPA actions.

The role requires 16–18 years in automotive/EV manufacturing with at least 5 years in field quality leadership and BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 16–18 years in Automotive/EV manufacturing with leadership in field quality.
• Education in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• Experience leading cross-functional field quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead field quality performance monitoring for EV buses/trucks across customer locations.
• Drive investigation, root cause analysis, and CAPA closure for critical field failures using 8D, 5 Why.
• Serve as the primary quality interface among customers, service, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Analyze warranty, service, and feedback data to identify trends and improvements.
• Implement containment and corrective actions to boost uptime and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with design/manufacturing to feed field learnings into product improvements.
• Manage supplier-related field quality issues and ensure timely closure of actions.
• Support new product launches by tracking early-life quality and mitigating launch concerns.
• Knowledge of error decoding and troubleshooting is essential.

Lead Field Quality Buses / Trucks

Purpose

Lead Field Quality is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving the field performance of Electric Vehicle (EV) fully built Buses / Trucks by driving rapid issue resolution, customer satisfaction, warranty reduction, and continuous product improvement. The role acts as the critical link between customers, service teams, manufacturing, supplier quality, design, and program management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead field quality performance monitoring for EV Fully built buses / Trucks across customer locations.
• Drive investigation, root cause analysis, and closure of critical field failures using 8D, 5 Why, and CAPA methodologies.
• Act as the primary quality interface between customers, service teams, manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.
• Analyse warranty, service, telematics, and customer feedback data to identify quality trends and improvement opportunities.
• Implement containment and corrective actions to improve vehicle uptime and customer satisfaction.
• Drive product and process improvements by feeding field learnings back to design and manufacturing teams.
• Manage supplier-related field quality issues and ensure timely corrective action closure.
• Support new product launches by monitoring early-life quality performance and reducing launch-related concerns
• Knowledge on Error decoding / trouble shooting experience is essential.

Problem Solving & Risk Management

• Drive containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective actions using problem solving CORE tools methodologies.
• Resolve supplier-related and/or in-house manufacturing & Design related field quality concerns.
• Identify and mitigate campaign support / ensure recall free situation throughout the life cycle process.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with Sourcing /NPD, Product Development, Manufacturing Quality, and Suppliers to achieve field quality and launch objectives / KPIs.
• Lead Field Quality performance reviews and present key quality metrics, risks, and improvement plans to management.
• Mentor and develop Field Quality Engineers and build a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 16-18 years in Automotive/EV manufacturing with minimum 5 years in Field Quality leadership.
