Quest Global is seeking an experienced FEA Lead Engineer in Bengaluru to conduct advanced structural and thermal analyses on gas turbine components. You will mentor team members and collaborate with customers across concept through validation stages.

Qualifications

  • Education: BTech/MTech in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in structural analysis, specifically within the rotating machinery or gas turbine industry
  • Strong in finite element methods and engineering analysis practices
  • Experience with fatigue/creep/thermal analysis and rotor dynamics

Responsibilities

  • FEA Analysis: Perform complex linear and non-linear structural, thermal, modal, and vibration analyses
  • Correlate analytical models with physical test data
  • Support the full product lifecycle from conceptual design through validation and field issue resolution
  • Create detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and certification bodies
  • Contribute to standardization and automation of FEA workflows
  • Cross-functional collaboration and clear technical communication
  • Attention to detail in high-consequence, safety-critical applications
  • Maintain first-time quality metrics and deliver consistent project excellence

FEA Lead Engineer will be responsible for conducting advanced structural and thermal analyses to ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of gas turbine components (blades, vanes, disks, and casings). Mentor team technically and collaborate b/w team and customer.

Key Responsibilities
  • FEA Analysis : Perform complex linear and non-linear structural, thermal, modal, and vibration analyses
    • Structural Analysis : Perform linear/non-linear static, modal, and fatigue analyses on rotating and static hardware
    • Thermal Analysis : Conduct steady-state and transient thermal simulations to evaluate thermal stress and gradients.
    • Vibration & Dynamics : Analyze natural frequencies, Campbell diagrams, and forced response for HCF/LCF risk assessment
    • Understand the physics of the problem & offer simplified FEM solution
  • Correlate analytical models with physical test data
  • Support the full product lifecycle from conceptual design through validation and field issue resolution.
  • Create detailed technical reports and presentations to document analysis results, assumptions, and recommendations for stakeholders and certification bodies
  • Contribute to the standardization and automation of FEA workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Work Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Education: BTech/MTech in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience : 10+ years of experience in structural analysis, specifically within the rotating machinery or gas turbine industry
  • Software : Proficiency in ANSYS Classic, Workbench and APDL macro. Basic in UG-NX and Hypermesh.Scripting in Python/MATLAB a plus
  • Technical Knowledge-
    • Strong in Finite Element Methods.
    • Fatigue (HCF/LCF) and fracture mechanics
    • Creep and high-temperature material behaviour
    • Rotor dynamics fundamentals
    • Must have knowledge of Submodeling, coupled field analysis, cyclic symmetric analysis.
