Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 4+ years of engineering analysis experience to perform finite element analysis of gas turbines, steam turbines, wind turbines, aero engines, and turbo machinery components using ANSYS Classic and ANSYS Workbench.

You will apply FEM techniques, potentially use Hypermesh, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate analyses, feasibility studies, and credible customer presentations.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineer with 4+ years of experience in engineering analysis.
  • Hands-on experience performing analysis on mechanical components.
  • Strong understanding of stress analysis and fatigue life.
  • Knowledge of materials strength and fracture mechanics.
  • Ability to simplify physical problems to mathematical FEM models.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS APDL/Classic is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform FEM analysis of turbines and aero engine components using ANSYS.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and project leads to schedule deliverables.
  • Develop project approach notes and estimate analysis time.
  • Present FE analysis results to customers.
  • Participate in internal and customer reviews.

Work Experience

Key skills/experience:

  • Mechanical Engineer with 4+ years of experience in the field of Engineering Analysis.
  • Must have sound knowledge in working principles of Gas Turbine/Steam Turbine/ Wind Turbines/Wind Turbines/Aero engine/ Turbo machinery & should have hands on experience in performing Analysis on mechanical components.
  • Must Have excellent understanding of Stress Analysis & Fatigue Life evaluation
  • Should have sound knowledge of Strengths of materials & Fracture mechanics.
  • Should have ability to simplify the physical problem to mathematical model using FEM, techniques.
  • Must have excellent understanding of FINITE ELEMENT METHODS
  • Must have good experience in ANSYS Workbeach. Experience in APDL/Classic will be an added advantage..
  • Good Knowledge of ANSYS APDL codes is must, must be able to develop productivity tools
  • Must be able to develop Hexahedral mesh using Ansys classic, Hypermesh & Ansys Work Bench.
  • Must be able to co relate test data and FEA data, Should have good experience in performing Hand calculation & results interpretation.
  • Should be an expert in 2D axisymmetric analysis, non-linear analysis.
  • Should have good experience in Structural, thermal and Dynamic analysis.
  • Must have knowledge of Submodeling, coupled field analysis, cyclic symmetric analysis.
  • Must have the experience of working with cross functional teams like Design, manufacturing etc.
  • Must have good verbal & written communication in English
