Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an experienced Electronics/Mechanical Engineer with 6-8 years in automotive design to drive concept to release for vehicle switches, electronics, and related E&E aggregates.

You will collaborate with marketing, service teams, suppliers; demonstrate problem solving, DFMEA, CATIA V5, and project management skills; travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• BE/B Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, or Mechatronics engineering.
• Experience with capacitive switches CAD packaging and design.
• Knowledge of CAE Thermal, Vibration, and Condensations, and electronics HW.

Responsibilities

• Develop and visualize design concepts, balance design/cost/weight targets.
• Oversee design release, development, validation, and field issue tracking.
• Interfacing with cross-functional teams from marketing to service.

Job description

Should be able to visualize and develop design concepts within the consideration of functional requirement (design / cost / weight targets), position (spatial arrangement, interactions, boundary conditions), geometry (dimension/tolerance etc.), gap and flushness considering the vehicle level requirements/ constraints of systems/subsystems (as an input to the SOR) and thereby executing first time innovative solutions and
Benchmarking of lighting technologies
POC, SOR, DVP, TSO & development for controls, meeting all functional, quality & regulatory standards/requirements with in project time line.
Interact with supplier from concept to SOP capturing all SOR requirements & address build & validation issues
Managing and tracking of design release, development, validation & field failures
Review & release technical specifications & other documentations
Should have detail knowledge in capacitive switches CAD packaging and Design
Knowledge in CAE Thermal, Vibraton & Condensations
Should have additional knowledge in Wiring harness, Electronics HW
Must demonstrate a high degree of problem solving ability, especially in the field of expertise. Usage of tools used in DFMEA, problem solving tools and techniques and project management tools
Fluent in use of personal computer programs such as Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, project etc.

Experience

Industry Preferred

Any other OEM or Tier I like Marquardt, LS Automotive , KOSTAL & Carling

Interfacing with all inter dept teams right from marketing to service as so to start from understanding the marketing requirements and till service related activities. i.e., from start to end of project

Abreast on latest technologies across industry

Maintaining quality level tragets as per agreement

Adhering to committed timelines

Program management & detailed documentation

Open to short/medium term travel on need basis, across India & overseas

Very Good Vehicle system knowledge in switches & electronics and other E&E agregates in the vehicle
Market research & Industry trend analysis through tools like benchmarking, networking, conferences, papers, etc
Design thinking through collaboration with internal studio, experts across industries & suppliers for amalgamating the technology into the product
Expertise in Catia V5, GSD.
Knowledge in electronics & LEDs
Program management skills
Basic level knowledge in Vehicle electronics
