Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. seeks an experienced design engineer for automotive E&E with CATIA expertise. You will derive switch definitions from vehicle concepts and lead system integration with cross-functional teams.

Role requires 5–7 years in automotive design, BOM familiarity, and delivering DV&V results. Expect collaboration with suppliers, cost-control focus, and PLM process familiarity.

Qualifications

• BE/ME in Electrical and Electronics is required.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in automotive design or electrical systems.
• CATIA GSD surface design expertise is essential.
• Knowledge of BOM, Design Verification & Validation is expected.
• Experience leading discussions with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand functional requirements from vehicle definition and derive switch definitions.
• Lead design engineers for system integration to realize E&E features with quality, cost and time.
• Work on switches packaging and development with stack-up verification.
• Release technical specifications to suppliers for components/systems.
• Validate components with test cases at component and vehicle levels for issue-free products.
• Meet cost targets via IMCR/VAVE while maintaining quality and incorporating cost-effective solutions.
• Select components for wiring harness per required standards.
• Prepare BOM, specs, and DV&V requirements; compile test reports.
• Lead supplier discussions and ensure closure.
• Collaborate with CFTs to deliver products to vehicle platforms.

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• i). Shall be able to understand the functional requirements from initial vehicle definition derive the switches definition
• ii). To have detailed knowledge on switches developemnt and expertise in CATIA
• iii).Initiate, Interact with CFT & Lead the design engineers for system integration to realise the required E&E feature with Quality , Cost and Time.
• iv). Shall be able to work on switches packaging and development and should have skills on stack up verification
• v). Releasing all technical specification to suppliers for components/systems
• vi). Validating the components by making proper test cases in both component and vehicle level so as to give issue free product to customer
• vii). Meeting the cost targets specified without compromising quality of the product and also bringing out some cost effective solution thro IMCR/VAVE activities.
• viii). Should have knowledge on working of BOM details of components.
• ix). Must demonstrate a high degree of problem solving ability, especially in the field of expertise. Usage of Quality tools, DFMEA,Design Reviews & Project management
• x). Fluent in use of personal computer programs such as Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
• xi). Shall be able to selct components for Wiring harness as per required standard
• xi). To be expertise in CATIA specific to GSD (surface design)module and
• xii). Should have knowledge on sheet module design and drafting.
• xiii). To be proficient in TEAMCENTRE and to have knowledge about PLM process.
• xiv). Shall be able to prepare BOM, Spec., Design Verification & Validation Requirements, Compilation of Test Reports.
• xv).Shall lead the discussion with suppliers and ensuring the closure.
• xvi). Shall effectively collaborate the various CFTs and deliver the product to the necessary vehicle platforms.
