Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited seeks an experienced automotive engineer to lead packaging and DMU reviews for Commercial Vehicle systems in India. You will drive cross-functional collaboration, ensure homologation readiness, and coordinate CAE, testing, and validation activities.

The role requires 8–12 years in vehicle design, DMU work with CATIA/Teamcenter PLM, and strong knowledge of frame design, manufacturing processes, and APQP/DFMEA methods. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Vehicle system level functioning and design of Commercial Vehicle Systems.
• Frame design knowledge and key design principles for aggregates.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and plant layouts.
• Exposure to SAM processes and CAE/testing/validation.
• DMU, 3D modelling, assembly and drafting for vehicle layouts.
• Hands-on CATIA and Teamcenter PLM experience.
• Knowledge of current and future homologation requirements for commercial vehicles.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional product development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging and integration of vehicle systems and DMU sign-off.
• Coordinate DMU reviews, report preparation, and sign-off for homologation.
• Support validation tracking and issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to vehicle benchmarking and target cascading to system level.
• Assist in ensuring EN/PR release, EBOM, and installation drawings through PLM.
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing on design and verification activities.

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• Concept preparations and evaluation based on weight, cost, attributes, vehicle variants/ platform modularity.
• Lead Packaging & integration of Vehicle systems.
• Vehicle calculation knowledge like, Wheel base calc, CG calc, Vehicle performance calc.
• Lead DMU packaging reviews, Concerns resolution, Preparation of DMU reports & Sign off.
• Support in Validation concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
• Support in Service concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
• Support in Plant concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
• Support Build at different phase of programme
• Vehicle packaging and DMU sign off considering existing homologation requirements and future upcoming regulations.
• Ensure EN / PR release, EBOM, Installation drg release through PLM and track and coordinate other aggregate releases
• Participate in vehicle benchmarking, Vehicle Target setting and Cascading the same to System level targets.
• Manage homologation documentation, testing, etc.
• Expreienced in GNOVAC/ Vehicle quality audits

• DMU (Digital Mock Up), 3D modelling, Assembly, Drafting (vehicle layouts)
• Hands on Experience on Catia & Team center PLM
• Exposure to existing and future Homologation requirements of Commercial Vehicles CAE, Testing & Validation
• Hand on experience on coordination with overall product development team including all aggregates, attributes, design and verification/validation
• Knowledge of product complexity/modularity management, manufacturing methods
• Knowledge of MPDS, APQP, DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DFS, QC Tools
• Knowledge of 8D
