Lead Engineer - Validation and Verification of the Complete Vehicle
- Drive virtual validation activities for Interior and Exterior systems in collaboration with Product Integration Specialists and Process Engineers.
- Analyze and evaluate CAD design changes, including geometry updates and index revisions.
- Perform detailed digital feasibility checks, validating assembly requirements, clearances, interfaces, clips, fasteners, and manufacturing constraints.
- Leverage your expertise in manufacturing processes, tooling, jigs & fixtures to assess assembly readiness in a virtual environment.
- Evaluate sub-assembly manufacturing concepts (Cockpit, Bumper, etc.) and identify potential production risks at an early stage.
- Ensure compliance with BMW Group T-GAP and T-Requirement checkpoints through comprehensive CAD assessments.
- Support early production validation, prototyping, and cubing activities to enhance product maturity.
- Lead the cross-plant consolidation of technical issues, driving effective resolution and escalation management.
- Contribute to the development of production-ready product concepts, process improvements, and cross-functional standards.
- Conduct KOVA (Virtual Validation) assessments and provide recommendations at key development gateways.
- Play a key role in enabling a seamless transition from digital design to manufacturing, ensuring high quality and efficient product launches.
What should you bring along
- A strong background in CAD, particularly with CATIA or Team center Vis Mockup.
- Good communication skills in English
- Dynamic simulations such as path creation and clash detection
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies using simulation
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams.
Must have technical skill
- Strong understanding of end-to-end vehicle development lifecycle with the ability to translate product design requirements into manufacturing and assembly system simulations
- Proven track record of delivering minimum 2 complete automotive programs, including virtual manufacturing validation and production readiness
- Expertise in plant validation through simulation, including:
- Assembly feasibility validation
- Production flow analysis
- Assembly path creation and Clash detection
- Hands-on experience with PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia. etc)
- Advanced proficiency in CATIA or DELMIA or TC Vic Mockup
Good to have Technical skills
- Advanced simulation skills including IPS cable simulation & Ergonomic Simulations
- Simulation for Flexible parts/Bending simulations
- Knowledge of digitization workflows, data exchange formats, and version control in a design/engineering context.
