Role
Lead Engineer- Sensor (Passenger Car Chassis System)
- You will shape the future BMW vehicles dynamics by bringing brake systems to life through precise CAD modelling, Concept and engineering execution.
- You will contribute to concept development, CAD engineering, packaging, system integration, validation, and industrialization of chassis sensing systems across global vehicle platforms.
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and release documentation for chassis sensors, brackets, mounting systems, and sensor interfaces.
- Support complete component development from concept phase through series production.
- Collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics, Suspension, Brakes, Steering, ADAS, Functional Safety, E/E Architecture, Testing, Manufacturing, and Supplier Engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with vehicle performance, safety, reliability, durability, functional safety, cybersecurity, weight, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
- Support prototype builds, calibration activities, vehicle integration, testing, validation, and engineering change management activities.
What should you bring along
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in automotive sensor development, chassis electronics, suspension systems, or vehicle dynamics systems.
- Strong understanding of chassis electronic systems and vehicle dynamics functionality.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in chassis, sensor, or control system development.
- Knowledge of automotive product development processes, engineering release systems, and validation methodologies.
- Experience in cross-functional and global engineering environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; German language skills would be an added advantage.
