Role
Lead Engineer - Integration + Mounts for Cameras, Ultrasonic Sensors
- Own the vehicle integration, packaging, and mounting development of camera and ultrasonic sensor systems.
- Define sensor installation concepts, mounting strategies, and vehicle interface requirements.
- Ensure optimal sensor performance through robust mechanical integration and packaging solutions.
- Coordinate with sensor suppliers, vehicle architecture, body, exterior, interior, and manufacturing teams.
- Drive design reviews, packaging assessments, issue resolution, and engineering change activities.
- Support prototype builds, vehicle integration, testing, validation, and production launches.
- Ensure compliance with visibility, detection performance, environmental, durability, EMC, and safety requirements.
- Manage quality, cost, weight, timing, and technical maturity targets for sensor mounting solutions.
What should you bring along
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in automotive sensor integration, vehicle packaging, or ADAS hardware development.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle architecture, packaging principles, and sensor integration requirements.
- Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities.
Must have technical skill
- Experience in integration and mounting development of camera and ultrasonic sensor systems.
- Strong understanding of camera field-of-view requirements, sensor positioning, and ultrasonic sensor coverage requirements.
- Expertise in vehicle packaging, tolerance management, and integration feasibility studies.
- Experience in CATIA V5/V6, DMU validation, clash analysis, and package assessments.
- Knowledge of plastic and metal bracket design, injection molding, die-casting, and DFMA principles.
- Experience in DVP&R, DFMEA, engineering change management, and release processes.
- Understanding of automotive environmental, vibration, durability, ingress protection (IP), and EMC requirements.
- Familiarity with BMW PLM systems.
- Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO 26262 development processes.
Good to have technical skills
- Experience integrating Camera, Radar, LiDAR, and Ultrasonic sensors within ADAS architectures.
- Knowledge of surround-view systems, parking assistance systems, automated parking functions, and driver monitoring systems.
- Exposure to camera calibration, image quality requirements, and vehicle-level sensor validation.
- Experience with CAE‑based vibration, thermal, and structural validation of mounting brackets.
