Job summary

Agile Technology Solutions - Your Technology Partner is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer – Proposal to lead end-to-end proposal development for retrofitting and revamping projects. You will manage RFQ analyses, cost estimation, and techno-commercial submissions, while ensuring technical compliance and liaison with customers and internal teams.

The role requires strong experience in boilers, heaters, thermal systems, and P&ID preparation, with oversight of proposal quality and timely

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong experience in Proposal Engineering for boilers, heaters, and thermal systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete proposal lifecycle, from customer enquiry and RFQ analysis to offer submission, order handover, and execution support.
• Review RFQs, tender documents, technical queries (TQ), and deviation sheets.
• Perform thermal sizing and mechanical design calculations for solid fuel boilers, thermic fluid heaters, hot water generators, and hot gas/air generators.
• Prepare and review P&ID.
• Select and evaluate critical components, including fans, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IBR, EN, and ASME.
• Prepare detailed component-level and system/package-level cost estimates.
• Develop techno-commercial proposals based on customer requirements, technical specifications, and project feasibility.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, front-end sales, and internal engineering and execution teams.
• Conduct Order Transfer Meetings (OTM) and provide technical clarifications during project execution.
• Lead and mentor proposal engineers, review deliverables, and ensure proposal quality and timely submission.
• Identify customer requirements and develop scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Strong experience in Proposal Engineering for boilers, heaters, and thermal systems.
• Knowledge of thermal and mechanical design calculations.
• Thorough understanding of Heat, Mass, and Energy Balance.
• Experience in solid fuel boilers, thermic fluid heaters, hot water generators, and hot gas/air generators.
• Knowledge of heater design and operations.
• Proficiency in P&ID preparation and component selection.
• Knowledge of IBR, EN, and ASME codes and standards.
• Experience in costing, estimation, and techno-commercial proposal preparation.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge, ERP/SFDC, MS Excel, and VBA.
• Strong customer coordination, technical evaluation, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
