Job summary

Zeeco, a global leader in combustion and environmental solutions, seeks a Senior Estimation & Proposals Engineer for its Baner (Pune) location. You will prepare techno-commercial estimates for Waste Heat Boiler packages and associated C&I systems, coordinating with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, finance, planning and project teams to deliver competitive bids.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, tender specs, datasheets, P&IDs, BOQs and commercial requirements.
• Prepare techno-commercial proposals for WHB and C&I systems for bids.
• Identify technical deviations, exclusions, and commercial risks.
• Coordinate bid clarification meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop cost estimates for BOM, pressure parts, piping, valves, and electrical packages.
• Estimate engineering, fabrication, erection, and commissioning costs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimation & Proposals Engineer with expertise in Waste Heat Boilers (WHRB) and Control & Instrumentation (C&I) estimation to support techno-commercial proposal preparation, cost estimation, and bid execution.

The incumbent will be responsible for preparing accurate techno-commercial estimates and proposals for Waste Heat Boiler projects, including associated Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems. The role requires close coordination with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, finance, planning, and project execution teams to develop competitive bids while ensuring technical compliance and cost optimization.

Experience in EPC/OEM organizations involved in Waste Heat Boilers, Fired Heaters, Heat Recovery Systems, or industrial boiler projects will be preferred. Experience in estimating complete boiler packages along with C&I scope will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal & Tender Management:

• Review customer RFQs, tender specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, BOQs, and commercial requirements.
• Prepare complete techno-commercial proposals for Waste Heat Boiler packages and associated C&I systems.
• Identify technical deviations, exclusions, qualifications, and commercial risks.
• Coordinate bid clarification meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.

Cost Estimation:

• Review Bills of Material (BOM), technical specifications, and approved vendor lists received from Engineering and Marketing.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
  • Waste Heat Boilers
  • Pressure Parts
  • Structural Steel
  • Piping
  • Valves
  • Fans
  • Pumps
  • Burners
  • Instruments
  • PLC/DCS/SCADA
  • MCCs
  • Electrical packages
  • Bought-Out (BO) equipment
• Float RFQs to vendors and evaluate commercial and technical quotations.
• Coordinate with Procurement for vendor pricing and fabrication rates.
• Work with Manufacturing to estimate fabrication and shop man-hours.
• Coordinate with Construction and Project teams to estimate erection, commissioning, modularization, and export packaging costs.
• Estimate engineering, design, documentation, inspection, logistics, and contingency costs.

C&I Scope Estimation:

• Prepare cost estimates for complete Control & Instrumentation packages including:
  • PLC architecture
  • Field instrumentation
  • Control valves
  • Shut-off valves
  • Flame monitoring systems
  • Safety interlocks
  • Cable schedules
  • Junction boxes
  • Marshalling panels
  • Control panels
  • MCC interfaces
• Evaluate instrument vendor quotations and prepare technical-commercial comparisons.
• Coordinate with C&I Engineering to ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable industry standards.

Cost Optimization:

• Perform cost optimization studies and value engineering exercises.
• Evaluate alternative materials, equipment, and vendors to improve competitiveness.
• Prepare take-offs, add-on calculations, and cost-saving recommendations.
• Monitor raw material price trends, steel prices, and vendor rate contracts.
• Develop and maintain cost databases for fabricated and bought-out items.

Budgeting & Project Handover:

• Participate in Order Transfer Meetings after project award.
• Prepare Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)-wise project budgets.
• Upload and release approved budgets into ERP systems.
• Support Project Management and Procurement during post-order execution by explaining budget assumptions and estimation basis.

Cost Control:

• Participate in project cost review meetings with Finance, Projects, Planning, Procurement, and Marketing.
• Monitor project cost overruns and identify opportunities for savings.
• Evaluate Cost Change Notes (CCNs) and recommend approvals based on technical and commercial justification.
• Support project teams in resolving budget-related issues throughout execution.
