Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. seeks a senior Vehicle Body System engineer to lead the team responsible for 2D concept sections, 3D part models and 3D assemblies.

You will coordinate with Principal Engineers and Project Managers to meet technical targets, project timings and budgets. The role requires a degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering, 12–15 years in automotive, and a strong understanding of aluminium manufacturing processes (heat treatments, coatings, assembly and tolerances).

Qualifications

• Educated to a degree level in a mechanical or aeronautical discipline
• Experience in automotive industry is essential
• Experience with aluminium manufacturing processes including heat treatments, coatings, assembly and tolerances
• Ability to select materials and processes for strength, durability, cost and manufacturability
• Experience in design/engineering of automotive primary structures using extrusions, sheet and cast/forged materials

Responsibilities

• Lead the Vehicle Body System team to prepare 2D concept sections, 3D part models and 3D assembly models

Knowledge and Experience

• Educated to a degree level in a mechanical or aeronautical discipline
• 10 years automotive experience
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes associated with aluminium including but not limited to heat treatments, coatings, assembly and process tolerances
• Ability to select materials and processes appropriate to engineering requirements such as strength, durability, cost and manufacturing constraints
• Experience in the design and engineering of automotive primary structures utilising extrusions, sheet and cast/forged materials
