ExlService Holdings, Inc. Bengaluru invites an experienced Training Program Manager to design and deliver surgical coding training for auditors and coding teams.

You will develop materials, run sessions (classroom, virtual or blended), mentor staff, and collaborate with SMEs, Quality Auditors and Compliance to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment.

The role emphasizes HIPAA and OIG compliance, ongoing assessment, and reporting on learning outcomes to enhance productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement training strategies for surgery coding and audit teams.
• Identify skill gaps via needs analyses and create targeted training plans.
• Create modules, presentations, and materials based on CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.
• Update training content with changes in coding standards, payer rules, and compliance.
• Deliver training sessions (classroom, virtual, blended) for new hires and auditors.
• Provide hands-on coding exercises, case studies, and assessments.
• Mentor coding professionals to improve accuracy and productivity.
• Collaborate with SMEs, Quality Auditors, and Compliance to ensure content accuracy.
• Measure training effectiveness with assessments and feedback surveys.
• Refresh materials to reflect process improvements and regulatory changes.
• Ensure HIPAA and OIG compliance and confidentiality in training.
• Promote ethical coding practices throughout the program.
• Work with audit teams to identify error trends and design targeted training.
• Maintain records of training participation, completion, and outcomes.
• Report to management on training effectiveness and skill development.
• Help set performance benchmarks and continuous learning for coding teams.

Job description

• Training Program Management:
• Design, develop, and implement training strategies and programs tailored to surgery coding and coding audit teams.
• Conduct strategic needs analyses to identify skill gaps and develop training plans that address these gaps effectively.
• Develop comprehensive training modules, presentations, and learning materials based on current procedural terminology (CPT), ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Ensure training materials and processes reflect the latest updates in medical coding standards, payer requirements, and compliance regulations.
• Training Delivery & Facilitation:
• Conduct training sessions (classroom, virtual, or blended) for new hires, existing staff, and auditors on surgery coding concepts, audit standards, and best practices.
• Provide hands‑on coding exercises, case studies, and assessments to reinforce learning and evaluate participant understanding.
• Offer ongoing support, mentoring, and guidance to coding professionals to enhance accuracy and productivity.
• Curriculum Development & Evaluation:
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Quality Auditors, and Compliance Teams to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
• Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, performance metrics, and feedback surveys.
• Update and refine training materials periodically to reflect process improvements, audit trends, and regulatory changes.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that all training initiatives comply with HIPAA, OIG, and organizational confidentiality standards.
• Promote coding accuracy, ethical practices, and adherence to compliance guidelines throughout the training process.
• Partner with audit teams to identify common error trends and develop targeted training to mitigate these issues.
• Performance & Reporting:
• Maintain detailed records of training activities, participation, completion rates, and performance outcomes.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for management on training effectiveness, skill development, and performance improvements.
• Contribute to the establishment of performance benchmarks and continuous learning strategies for coding teams.
