Job summary

Signify seeks a Lead Advanced Quality Engineer for its Connected Lighting & Controls Systems across IoT, HW/SW interfaces. You will drive QMS, enforce best practices, and champion quality pillars in development, supplier management, and industrial processes.

The role requires 12+ years in software/hardware quality, strong leadership, and experience with DFSS tools, FMEA, and RCAs. You will mentor teams, influence stakeholders, and champion quality across projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
  • Knowledge of APQP and statistical methods.
  • 12+ years as Software (FW) or Quality with HW/FW affinity.
  • Familiar with DfSS; SAFe and CMMi experience.
  • Experience with Risk Analysis and RCA/8D; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end quality deliverables in NPDL and fast-track projects.
  • Coach and train teams on CTQ, FMEA, PPAP, QTP, and process validation.
  • Present quality status in gate/reviews and drive corrective actions.
  • Define project quality budget and ensure delivery of KPIs.
  • Set requirements for quality test & measurement equipment.
  • Close feedback loops from customer complaints and update design rules.

If you are a seasoned Software (SW) professional, or a Quality professional with software background with an affinity to HW/FW, this could be a perfect next step to a senior role with a global engineering leader in IoT for Lighting. As a Lead Advanced Quality Engineer assuring the quality and reliability of our state-of-the art Connected Lighting & Controls Systems, the backbone of IoT and many other modern building systems. The AQE facilitates the Quality Management processes within R&D, enforcing best practices defined by Signify’s Quality System, and champions the major quality pillars related to software & hardware design and development, supplier management, and industrial processes. What you’ll do
  • Accounts for all end-to-end quality-related deliverables in the NPDL process and fast track development projects.
  • Coaches, trains and other functions on execution of quality activities such as CTQ, FMEA, Supplier selection, PPAP, QTP, Process validation, Reliability prediction, and Compliance.
  • Presents the quality status in NPDL Gate and MS review and defines and drives corrective actions to meet deliverables.
  • Assured that budget is defined in the project to meet quality deliverables.
  • Sets quality KPI in NPDL Project.
  • Defines requirements for quality test and measurement equipment.
  • Closes feedback loops from customer complaints by embedding the learnings into new design rules, QTPs, FMEAs and other AQP tools.
  • Lead problem-solving activities for internal and Customer concerns relating to assigned responsibilities and documenting all actions in the required format (e.g. 8D).
  • Ensure project documentation review and authorization.
  • Act as DfSS ambassador.
Your qualifications
  • Technical: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field, providing foundational knowledge in quality principles and product development.
  • Detailed knowledge of the theory and principles of APQP and statistical methods.
  • At least 12 years’ experience as a Software (FW) professional, or a Quality professional with Software background with an affinity to HW/FW.
  • Detailed knowledge of the theory and principles of Quality Assurance methods and tools (e.g. DfSS, APQP, etc.) and Software Methodologies (SAFe and CMMi)
  • Experience in Risk Analysis and Root cause analysis (RCA, FMEA, 8D, 5 Why, etc.).
  • Experience with development tooling (JIRA, Confluence) and Software Quality Tooling (SonarQube, TIOBE).
  • Ability to apply the appropriate statistics to give contents to fact-based decision making.
  • Familiar with DfSS tools (e.g. DOE’s and modelling), SWQ KPI’s & CI / CD best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Prior hands-on software development experience in roles such as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, or Software Architect is considered a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to Compliance of products & Systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Field Quality is a plus.
  • Behavioural: Team player and coach.

  • Good communicator and presenter, willing to listen and speak-up.
  • Strong collaborator who keeps stakeholders and team members informed, maintains continuous collaborative process, and drives key initiatives.
