Job Overview

Lead Administrator L1 at Wipro – responsible for architecture planning, design, and day‑to‑day operations of the platform, database, middleware, and backup tower.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural support for new projects and migration of platform, database, middleware, and backup.
• Lead structural and architectural design to create scalable, extensible solutions.
• Conduct technology capacity planning and leverage new features of underlying technologies to ensure smooth operation.
• Strategize and implement disaster recovery and backup plans.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations – troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop fixes.
• Plan and manage upgrades, migrations, maintenance, backup, installation, and configuration functions.
• Review technical performance and deploy performance improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain shift rosters and SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, daily test plans, and data architecture guidance.
• Provide weekly status reports to client leadership and internal stakeholders on database activities.
• Leverage technology to develop Service Improvement Plans through automation and initiatives.

• Train direct reports to make effective recruitment decisions.

• Ensure 100% compliance with onboarding and training standards.
• Build internal talent pool and promote diversity in leadership positions.

• Support organizational programs such as Performance Nxt.

Employee Engagement

• Lead engagement initiatives and track team satisfaction scores.
• Identify initiatives to build engagement and proactively challenge the team with enriching projects.
• Exercise employee recognition and appreciation.

Deliverables

• Operations of the tower – SLA adherence and identification of risk issues.
• Knowledge management and CSAT/customer experience metrics.
• New project timely delivery, avoidance of unauthorized changes, and no formal escalations.

Experience

5–8 years of experience in architecture planning, design, and operations of platform, database, middleware, and backup systems.
