Job summary

Advance India Projects (AIPL) is seeking a Landscape Architect with 6–8 years of professional experience to join our design team in India. You will develop high-quality landscape design solutions across project scales and collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve sustainable, context-sensitive outcomes.

You will lead conceptual and technical design, prepare documentation, and support environmental stewardship while coordinating with stakeholders and managing project

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from a recognized institution.
  • 6–8 years of professional landscape architecture experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Clients and Teams, liaise with stakeholders to establish project requirements and timelines.
  • Engage Community and Stakeholders through consultations to inform design decisions.
  • Conduct Site Analysis evaluating topo, soil, ecology, drainage, and context.
  • Develop Design Concepts and Plans including masterplans and planting plans.
  • Produce Technical Documentation with drawings, specs, and schedules.
  • Manage Sustainable practices and advise on materials and green infrastructure.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, tendering, and contractor coordination.
  • Present proposals and maintain thorough project records.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Landscape Architect with rich professional experience to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will support the development of high-quality landscape design solutions across a range of project scales. You will work closely with senior team members, clients, consultants, and contractors, contributing to creative, sustainable, and context-sensitive design outcomes.

Role & responsibilities
Stakeholder Coordination & Client Engagement
  • Coordinate with Clients and Teams
    Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, planners, and consultants to establish project requirements, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Engage Community & Stakeholders
    Conduct consultations, public inquiries, and seek input from local communities or stakeholders to inform design decisions.
2. Site Analysis & Contextual Assessment
  • Conduct Site Analysis
    Evaluate site conditionstopography, soil, ecology, drainage, built context, heritageto guide design strategies.
  • Environmental Impact & Regulatory Assessment
    Assess environmental constraints, perform impact studies, and ensure designs comply with zoning, environmental, and planning regulations.
3. Conceptual & Technical Design
  • Develop Design Concepts & Plans
    Create masterplans, conceptual layouts, planting and hardscape plans that are both functional and visually compelling.
  • Produce Technical Documentation
    Prepare precise technical drawings, working plans, cost estimates, construction details, specifications, and schedules using CAD and other design tools.
4. Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship
  • Integrate Sustainable Practices
    Incorporate native planting, water conservation, green infrastructure (like rain gardens/roofs), and other climate-aware strategies into landscape designs.
  • Advise on Environmental Conservation
    Guide clients and stakeholders on sustainable materials, ecological conservation principles, and long-term environmental benefits.
5. Project Management & Implementation
  • Manage Budgets & Schedules
    Prepare cost estimates, manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee Construction & Implementation
    Conduct site visits, review shop drawings, supervise grading, planting, irrigation, and hardscape installation to ensure design intent is executed.
  • Administer Tender & Contractor Processes
    Lead tendering, select and coordinate contractors/suppliers, and ensure procurement aligns with project goals.
6. Presentations & Documentation
  • Present Proposals & Reports
    Produce visual presentations, diagrams, written reports, and contract documentation to communicate designs and obtain approvals.
  • Maintain Project Records
    Keep organized records of plans, contracts, permits, invoices, and correspondence for transparency and project continuity.
7. Continuous Learning & Professional Development
  • Stay Current with Trends & Regulations
    Engage in continuous learningthrough CPD, workshops, conferences—to stay updated with sustainable design trends, tech tools, policies, and best practices.
  • Support Ecological & Cultural Stewardship
    Engage in ecological restoration, historic preservation, and culturally sensitive planning as part of responsible design practice.
Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from a recognized institution.
Experience:
  • 6–8 years of relevant professional/design experience in landscape architecture.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and climate-responsive solutions.
  • Experience working on township developments, group housing, and commercial projects.
  • Experience in site coordination and construction administration.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design creativity, technical ability, and project involvement across various stages.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp.
  • Familiarity with planting design, irrigation systems, and local horticulture is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
