Job summary

Saaki Argus & Averil Consulting is seeking a Lab Technician for Rubber Products Manufacturing in Chennai. The role focuses on conducting physical, mechanical, and chemical tests on rubber materials and finished products in a factory lab setting.

The candidate will work with Mooney viscosity tests, rheometer readings, and tensile/hardness assessments, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to SOPs. Safety and calibration of equipment are essential responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BSc in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Rubber Technology or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in rubber lab testing or manufacturing environment.
• Good knowledge of rubber material properties and testing standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting physical, mechanical and chemical testing of rubber raw materials and finished products.
• Perform standard lab tests such as Mooney viscosity, rheometer readings, tensile strength, and hardness.
• Record and maintain accurate test results and data logs.
• Support in compound development trials and batch validation tests.
• Prepare samples and test slabs as per ASTM/ISO standards.
• Ensure calibration and routine maintenance of lab equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness of the lab environment.
• Report abnormalities in test results to R&D/QC team.

field

Location: Chennai

Experience Required: 1 to 3 Years

Industry Preferred: Rubber

Key Responsibility:

Assist in conducting physical, mechanical, and chemical testing of rubber raw

materials and finished products.

Perform standard laboratory tests such as:

Mooney viscosity

Rheometer (cure characteristics)

Tensile strength & elongation

Hardness (Shore A/D)

Specific gravity

Compression set, aging, abrasion, etc.

Record and maintain accurate test results and data logs.

Support in compound development trials and batch validation tests.

Prepare samples and test slabs as per ASTM / ISO standards.

Ensure calibration and routine maintenance of lab equipment.

Follow safety protocols and ensure cleanliness of the laboratory environment.

Report any abnormalities in test results to the R&D/QC team
