Job summary

Apexon is seeking an L2 applications support engineer to stabilize SDLC infrastructure, DevOps toolchains, and cloud environments. You will monitor Linux-based systems, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshoot across global teams, while contributing to automation and operational excellence.

The role requires 3–5 years of SDLC/DevOps support experience, a IT/CS degree, and hands-on work with AutoSys, CRON, Apache/Tomcat, and cloud platforms. Rotational shifts are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 application support for SDLC infrastructure and DevOps toolchains.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across Linux-based distributed environments.
• Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines, build and deployment processes.
• Manage and troubleshoot DevOps dependencies including code repositories, builds, packages, and distribution mechanisms.
• Support configuration management platforms such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Work with job scheduling tools such as AutoSys and CRON.
• Support web/application servers including Apache and Tomcat.
• Manage and troubleshoot databases and cloud environments (public/private cloud).
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure platform stability and operational excellence.
• Participate in rotational shift support and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Continuously identify opportunities for operational improvement and automation.

What You Will Be Doing

What Are We Looking For

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience supporting SDLC, DevOps platforms, and Linux environments.

Technical Skills:

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in scripting/development using Java or Python.
• Experience with:
• AutoSys, CRON, or other job scheduling systems
• NIS
• Apache and Tomcat
• Relational databases (DB2, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase)
• Public and Private Cloud platforms (preferably AWS, with exposure to cloud-hosted application and DevOps environments)
• Working knowledge of modern AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools).
• Strong understanding of scripting/configuration languages such as Groovy, Go, JSON, YAML, or INI.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a high-pressure production support environment.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive "can-do" attitude.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
• Nice to Have
• Experience supporting large-scale environments with 10,000+ servers.
• Experience supporting multiple applications/platforms simultaneously.
• ITIL and ITSM knowledge or certification.
• Experience working in global client-facing support organizations.
• Prior experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams.
• Experience supporting applications within a Financial Services or Banking institution.
