Job summary

Keka Inc. in Bengaluru, India is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Steward to support daily culinary operations by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen, washing area, storage, and back-of-house spaces.

You will sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment, manage waste disposal, handle chemicals safely, and assist the kitchen team during busy service while ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, washing area, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Wash and sanitize plates, cutlery, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, workstations, walls, sinks, drains, and other areas regularly.
• Ensure clean utensils and equipment are available to the kitchen team during service.
• Collect, segregate, and dispose of kitchen waste as per company standards.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
• Keep the stewarding and dishwashing areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment as required.
• Support the kitchen team with cleaning and other operational requirements during busy service.
• Assist with receiving, moving, and storing kitchen supplies when required.
• Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or hygiene concerns to the supervisor.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain personal hygiene, grooming, and proper work discipline at all times.
• Work as part of the team and complete assigned tasks within the required time.
