Job summary

SG Oasis in Mumbai is seeking a proactive Steward to support kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency in the dishwashing area and related back-of-house tasks. You will direct and assist Stewards, manage water temperature and chemical levels, help with banquet plate-ups, support cooks, and ensure safety, quality, and professional appearance while upholding company standards.

This role demands teamwork, reliability, and the ability to follow procedures; you may perform other duties

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist Stewards to improve cleanup efficiency
• Ensure water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate and documented
• Assist with banquet plate-ups
• Support cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks
• Provide cooks with needed items
• Support banquet and buffet by transporting and ensuring stock
• Return cleaned items to proper locations
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dishwashing and scrubbing stations
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching employees
• Follow safety policies; report accidents and unsafe conditions; complete safety training
• Ensure uniform and professional appearance; protect company assets
• Welcome guests according to standards; anticipate service needs
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Develop positive working relationships; support team goals
• Ensure adherence to quality standards
• Reach overhead and below the knees; move on uneven surfaces
• Perform other duties as requested by Supervisors.

• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests service needs
• Speak with others using clear and professional language
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
