Job summary

The Storey is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to support the design team in developing concepts and drawings for residential and commercial interiors in Mumbai. You will assist with space planning, mood boards, FF&E selection, and client presentations, while coordinating construction drawings with architects and vendors.

You will participate in site visits, perform quality checks, and ensure design intent is maintained across projects.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Space Planning and Interior Design to support functional, aesthetically cohesive layouts.
• Candidates should possess skills in Architecture and Construction Drawings to assist in translating design concepts into accurate technical documentation.
• Candidates should possess skills in FF&E to help select and coordinate furniture, fixtures, equipment, finishes, and materials.
• Proficiency in design software (such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and presentation tools (PowerPoint, InDesign, or equivalent).
• Strong visual communication, attention to detail, and ability to interpret and follow design direction.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; internship or 1–2 years of experience in an interior design or architecture firm is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, collaborate in a team environment, and manage time effectively across multiple projects.

Role Description

The Junior Interior Designer will support the design team in developing concepts, preparing drawings, and coordinating project details for residential and commercial interiors. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with space planning, creating mood boards, supporting FF&E selection, and preparing presentations for client meetings. The role will involve producing and updating construction drawings in coordination with architects, contractors, and vendors, as well as participating in site visits and quality checks. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, requiring close collaboration with the design team and regular interaction with clients and project stakeholders.
