Job summary

House Of Kaagaz in Bengaluru is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our design studio on-site. This full-time role supports drawings, documentation, client presentations, and site coordination to ensure design intent is realized in execution.

You will collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors, assist with FF&E selections, and help translate concepts into functional, buildable layouts.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Interior Design and Architecture
  • Skills in Space Planning and Interior Design to develop functional layouts
  • Experience or training in Construction Drawings to assist in preparing detailed plans
  • Understanding of FF&E to support selection, specification, and coordination with vendors
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit) and basic MS Office/Google Workspace
  • Strong visual, conceptual, and presentation skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field; internship or 0–2 years preferred

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Junior Interior Designer role based in Bengaluru.

  • Responsibilities include assisting with drawings and documentation, preparing presentations, coordinating FF&E selections, and supporting site visits and measurements.
  • The role involves collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure design intent is maintained through execution.
  • The Junior Interior Designer will also help with client presentations, gather feedback, and incorporate revisions into design and construction documents.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Interior Design and Architecture, with the ability to translate concepts into practical, buildable solutions.
  • Skills in Space Planning and Interior Design to develop functional layouts that align with client requirements and building constraints.
  • Experience or training in Construction Drawings to assist in preparing detailed plans, sections, and elevations for execution.
  • Understanding of FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) to support selection, specification, and coordination with vendors.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and basic knowledge of MS Office or Google Workspace.
  • Strong visual, conceptual, and presentation skills, with attention to detail and an eye for materials, textures, and color palettes.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take feedback, manage time, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; internship or 0–2 years of professional experience in interior design is preferred.
