Job description

Job Description:

Hexr Factory is a next-generation immersive technology company and an Unreal Engine Authorized Service Partner, creating real-time 3D, interactive, visualisation and digital-learning experiences for global clients.

Role Overview

We are looking for two Junior Instructional Designers to convert client-supplied scripts, lesson briefs and storyboards into clear, structured production plans for 3D animation and video content. This role sits at the intersection of learning design and creative production. You will help make sure that a concept is instructionally sound, visually expressible and ready for storyboard, asset, animation, voice-over, edit and final-video teams.

This is not a conventional content-QA role. Quality review is part of the work, but the primary responsibility is to interpret, develop and structure source material before and during production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study client scripts, storyboards, learning objectives and content briefs to understand the intended concept, audience and learning outcome.
  • Break content into a practical lesson, segment, scene and shot structure for 3D animation and video production.
  • Convert abstract concepts into visual actions, demonstrations, character behaviour, backgrounds, props, on-screen text, transitions and camera requirements.
  • Develop and maintain script-to-storyboard mappings, scene breakdowns, shot lists, asset lists, VO cues, subtitle cues and production notes.
  • Restructure content when the sequence is unclear, too dense, repetitive or difficult to represent visually, while preserving the client’s intent and documenting open decisions.
  • Prepare clear handoffs for storyboard, 3D, Unreal, animation, voice-over, editing and post-production teams.
  • Identify character, prop, environment, animation, camera, timing and continuity requirements before production begins.
  • Work with client-facing teams and subject-matter experts to clarify content, references, terminology and expected outcomes.
  • Participate in pre-production reviews, animatic reviews, WIP reviews and final-video reviews.
  • Check that narration, visuals, animation, on-screen text, subtitles and pacing work together to communicate the intended concept.
  • Provide concise, actionable feedback with scene, shot or timestamp references and follow through until important issues are closed.
  • Maintain version records, review trackers, feedback logs, approvals and handover documentation.
  • Convert recurring production or content issues into practical guidelines, examples, templates and checklists.
  • Coordinate with writers, storyboard artists, 3D artists, animators, video editors, voice-over teams, project coordinators and production leads.
  • Flag blockers, dependencies, scope questions and delivery risks early, and support the team in meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Handle client, project and learner content with discretion and confidentiality.
Required Skills
  • Basic understanding of instructional design, learning objectives, learner-centred content and educational storytelling.
  • Ability to read, interpret and improve scripts and storyboards for clarity, sequence, pacing and visual communication.
  • Ability to structure content into scenes, shots, actions, assets and production-ready notes.
  • Basic understanding of 3D animation, video production or creative-production workflows.
  • Strong written communication, documentation and attention to detail.
  • Mandatory ability to read, write and review Hindi accurately, along with strong working proficiency in English.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with creative, technical, client-facing and project teams.
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, PowerPoint or Google Slides and document/review tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple content packages, review cycles and deadlines.
  • Openness to feedback, learning new tools and working in a structured production environment.
Preferred Experience
  • 0–2 years of experience, including internships, academic projects or freelance work, in instructional design, educational content, content writing, animation, storyboarding, video production or digital learning.
  • Experience developing or reviewing scripts, storyboards, animatics, videos, digital lessons, VO, subtitles or interactive content.
  • Exposure to 3D, animation, VFX, Unreal Engine, video editing, motion graphics or e-learning authoring tools is an advantage.
  • A portfolio or sample showing instructional writing, educational content, storyboard structuring, visual breakdowns or production documentation.
  • A degree or equivalent practical experience in instructional design, education, animation, media, communication, English or a related field.
