Job summary

Flex is seeking a Junior Engineer - GBS Engineering in Chennai to support NPI/ECO activities. You will create BOM part numbers, AVL, and release documents in Agile and BAAN, manage ECOs across sites, and coordinate with engineering teams to implement changes. The role requires basic BE qualifications and willingness to work night shifts.

You will engage with ERP/PLM tools, generate reports, and train teammates while contributing to continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BE in ECE/EEE/E&I with 0-2 years of NPI/ECO experience in manufacturing
• Experience with NPI/ECO processes and BOM handling is preferred
• Experience with ERP systems, BAAN exposure is a plus
• Willingness to work night shifts and coordinate across sites

Responsibilities

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Junior Engineer - GBS Engineeringlocated in Chennai

What a typical day looks like:

• Creating part numbers for BOM in agile & Baan.
• Creating AVL in agile & Baan system
• Downloading customer documents like product specifications etc & releasing same in CDC
• Creating setup like product Number, BOM Structure etc in AGILE & BAAN for new Products
• Work as a Change Analysts during NPI for new changes Release Part list to production for new models & after implementation of ECO's
• Efficiently managing ECOs for manufacturing sites across the globe
• Use Agile (PLM) system for ECO (Engineering Change Order) creation, reviewing, routing, tracking, releasing and distribution
• Study the ECOs / Drawings closely and coordinate with the site Process / Product Engineering team
• Work closely with Engineering and materials teams to review product updates / modifications
• Respond to Business Partner (requestor) and customer on queries relating to Engineering Change Orders
• Ensure adherence to targets set for all Process Metrics
• Ensure timely generation and circulation of reports / dashboards.
• Train new and existing team members on an ongoing basis on relevant tools or topics.
• Perform root cause analysis to expedite the resolution of service issues.
• Identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement in the execution of procurement processes
• Prepare Customized reports for analyzing and incorporating improvements in processes.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• B.E(ECE/EEE/E&I) graduate with (0-2) years of experience as a NPI/ECO Engineer in Manufacturing set up, preferably in EMS industry
• Flexible to work in night shifts.
• Hands on experience in the following domain i.NPI (New Product Introduction) ii.ECO (Engineering Change Order management) iii.BOM (Bill of Materials) Management iv.Price Matrix Process
• Working Knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN
• Hands on Experience in any PLM software linked to ECO process
• Should have good Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word skills
• Command over oral and written skills in English
• Good analytical skills, logical thinking, Coaching & mentoring skills.
• Should be open for shift
