Job summary

Flex is hiring a Junior Engineer - GBS Engineering in Chennai to support NPI/ECO activities, BOM setup, and PLM-ERP changes. You will work with Agile and BAAN systems, coordinate with Process/Product Engineering, and drive efficiency in procurement-related tasks.

The role involves shift flexibility, exposure to ERP/BAAN, and collaboration with global manufacturing teams. Strong Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint skills and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Be a BE/BTech in ECE/EEE/E&I with 0–2 years of experience in NPI/ECO in manufacturing.
• Hands-on in NPI, ECO, BOM management, and price matrix process.
• Knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN, and PLM software linked to ECO processes.

Responsibilities

• Create part numbers for BOM in Agile & BAAN.
• Release ECOs and manage PLM-ERP changes across sites.
• Coordinate with engineering and materials teams on product updates.
• Prepare customized reports and dashboards for procured processes.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we re looking to add a Junior Engineer - GBS Engineering located in Chennai

What a typical day looks like:

• Creating part numbers for BOM in agile & Baan.
• Creating AVL in agile & Baan system
• Downloading customer documents like product specifications etc & releasing same in CDC
• Creating setup like product Number, BOM Structure etc in AGILE & BAAN for new Products
• Work as a Change Analysts during NPI for new changes - Release Part list to production for new models & after implementation of ECOs
• Efficiently managing ECOs for manufacturing sites across the globe
• Use Agile (PLM) system for ECO (Engineering Change Order) creation, reviewing, routing, tracking, releasing and distribution
• Study the ECOs / Drawings closely and coordinate with the site Process / Product Engineering team
• Work closely with Engineering and materials teams to review product updates / modifications
• Respond to Business Partner (requestor) and customer on queries relating to Engineering Change Orders
• Ensure adherence to targets set for all Process Metrics
• Ensure timely generation and circulation of reports / dashboards.
• Train new and existing team members on an ongoing basis on relevant tools or topics.
• Perform root cause analysis to expedite the resolution of service issues.
• Identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement in the execution of procurement processes
• Prepare Customized reports for analyzing and incorporating improvements in processes.

The experience were looking to add to our team:

• B. E(ECE/EEE/E& I) graduate with (0-2) years of experience as a NPI/ECO Engineer in Manufacturing set up, preferably in EMS industry
• Flexible to work in night shifts.
• Hands on experience in the following domain i. NPI (New Product Introduction) ii. ECO (Engineering Change Order management) - iii. BOM (Bill of Materials) Management iv. Price Matrix Process
• Working Knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN
• Hands on Experience in any PLM software linked to ECO process
• Should have good Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word skills
• Command over oral and written skills in English
• Good analytical skills, logical thinking, Coaching & mentoring skills.
• Should be open for shift
