Job description

Position: Jr. Executive - R&D

Location: Vapi

Responsibilities

• Be well versed with a standard research lab setup and be able to operate equipment and instruments
• Design and set up experiments to achieve chemical transformations
• Carry out synthesis based on precedence and merit of a given pathway
• Predict the outcome of reactions under a given set of conditions
• Come up with alternate routes to synthesize a particular compound (advantage)
• Update yourself with developments in the scientific community, especially in your field of expertise
• Determine the structure of organic molecules by interpreting IR, NMR, CMR & Mass Spectra including LCMS and GCMS
• Generate original ideas for dealing with a given problem
• Improve existing processes for upscaling and plant introduction in AID
• Transfer technology from lab to plant and execute projects in the lab
• Provide intellectual input towards the progress of the project
• Encourage a productive and positive work atmosphere and imbue a strong work ethic
• Collaborate seamlessly within global R&D and related SHK departments
• Exhibit team‑working skills along with good communication (written and oral) and presentation abilities; follow Good Lab Practices
• Keep lab documentation always up to date
• Submit research progress reports and process reports timely
• Record and file analytical data chronologically for easy access; maintain Lab Safety
• Use PPE personally and enforce its use by others in the lab
• Discourage people from working alone or from engaging in activities that deviate from accepted norms
• Have working knowledge of first aid
