Job summary

Lotus Technicals is seeking a diligent Electrical Engineering trainee/engineer in Maharashtra to support calculations for cables, transformers, panels and lighting, and to prepare BOQs and technical specs for projects. You will develop SLDs, wiring diagrams and block diagrams based on approved inputs and liaise with vendors under senior guidance.

You will help monitor timelines, ensure quality submissions, and assist in reviewing drawings and calculations with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Ability to interpret electrical specifications and client requirements for industrial projects.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with vendors and senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical calculations: cable sizing, transformer sizing, panel sizing, lighting, earthing and BMS for HVAC.
• Prepare BOQs and costing under guidance of senior engineers.
• Prepare technical specifications and SLDs, wiring and block diagrams from approved inputs.
• Discuss technical details and offers with vendors under guidance of seniors.
• Monitor tasks against timelines and report progress to RM.
• Submit calculations, drawings, BOQs and specs for technical review.

Responsibilities

• To assist in performing electrical calculations for:
  • Cable scheduling and calculations.
  • Transformer sizing and calculations.
  • Electrical panel sizing and calculations.
  • Lighting lux level calculations.
  • Earthing and lightning protection system calculations.
  • Cable tray sizing.
  • Low-voltage system calculations.
  • Building Management System (BMS) requirements for Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• To prepare the overall electrical Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and costing for individual projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
• To prepare the technical specifications of electrical components for individual projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
• To prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and block diagrams for individual projects based on approved design inputs.
• To discuss technical details and commercial offers with vendors under the guidance of senior engineers.
• To monitor assigned tasks against agreed timelines and regularly update the reporting manager (RM) on work progress.
• To submit electrical calculations, drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications to the Sr. Engineer-Electrical for technical review and verification.

Knowledge:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with electrical system analysis.
• Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Revit software.
• Basic knowledge of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) codes and standards.
• Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems, including transformers, Diesel Generator (DG) sets, Low-Tension (LT) panels, and power distribution systems.

Preferred Knowledge:

• A combination of design and site work experience would be an added advantage.
