Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in Commerce or Finance, MBA or Healthcare Management.

• Strong familiarity with hospital billing, insurance/TPA norms, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end billing operations for IPD, OPD, diagnostics and procedures.
• Manage cashless and reimbursement claims with insurance desks/TPAs and settlements.
• Monitor daily billing reports, audit charges, and prevent leakage.
• Track aging receivables, drive timely collections, and reduce DSO.
• Supervise and train billing managers and executives across shifts.
• Ensure adherence to tariffs, policies, and audits.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounts, Medical Records and Clinical Operations for reconciliation.

Role & responsibilities

• Revenue Cycle Management (RCM): Oversee end-to-end billing operations for Inpatient Department (IPD), Outpatient Department (OPD), diagnostics, and surgical procedures.
• Insurance & TPA Coordination: Manage cashless and reimbursement claims, coordinate with insurance desks/TPAs, and handle claim settlements or rejections.
• Revenue Leakage Prevention: Monitor daily billing reports, audit charge entries, and eliminate discrepancies or missed services.
• Accounts Receivable & Collections: Track aging receivables, drive timely payment collection, manage patient/corporate refunds, and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate billing managers, cashiers, and billing executives across shifts.
• Auditing & Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital tariffs, discount policies, statutory regulations, and internal/external audits.
• Cross-Departmental Liaison: Work closely with Finance, Accounts, Medical Records, and Clinical Operations teams for smooth reconciliation

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Graduate or Post-Graduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or Healthcare Management.
• Experience: Typically 15 to 20+ years of progressive experience in hospital or healthcare revenue cycle management, with leadership experience.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Hospital ERP/HIS (Hospital Information Systems) and billing software.
  • Advanced MS Excel capabilities for financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Sound knowledge of medical coding concepts (CPT, ICD) and insurance/TPA norms.
