Job summary

PwC is seeking an Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) & Marketo Implementation Developer to build enterprise customer journeys and marketing automation. You will configure journeys, campaigns and channels, integrate with CRM and data platforms, and ensure governance and testing across production environments.

The role requires hands-on AJO/Marketo experience, CRM integration know-how, and strong scripting skills in HTML/CSS/JS/Velocity. Consulting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on implementation experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer and Adobe Marketo Engage.
• Experience integrating marketing platforms with a CRM like Salesforce or others.
• Understanding REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication and event-driven integrations.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Velocity scripting.
• Knowledge of email deliverability, consent, privacy and suppression controls.

Responsibilities

• Translate business and data requirements into AJO and Marketo designs.
• Configure AJO journeys, campaigns, events, audiences and personalization.
• Configure Marketo programs, smart campaigns, lead lifecycle, scoring and routing.
• Establish platform governance, access, assets and deployment controls.
• Integrate AJO/Marketo with AEP/Real-Time CDP, CRM and websites via connectors and APIs.
• Implement multi-channel delivery including email, SMS, push and in-app.
• Leverage AI capabilities for content generation, personalization and timing.
• Validate data, test journeys, troubleshoot issues and support releases.

The role covers platform configuration, campaign and journey orchestration, integrations, personalization, governance, testing, and production support.

Designations

• Experienced Associate (2-4 years): Configures and tests assigned AJO journeys and Marketo programs with limited guidance.
• Senior Associate (5-8 years): Leads implementation workstreams, reviews solution quality, and guides junior team members.

• Adobe Marketo Engage Developer Expert or Architect

Roles and Responsibilities

• Translate business, campaign, data, and integration requirements into AJO and Marketo solution designs.
• Configure AJO journeys, campaigns, events, audiences, decisioning, personalization, templates, and channel settings.
• Configure Marketo programs, smart campaigns, lead lifecycle, scoring, routing, nurture, forms, landing pages, tokens, and preferences.
• Establish platform governance, user access, workspaces, naming standards, reusable assets, and deployment controls.
• Integrate AJO and Marketo with AEP/Real-Time CDP, CRM, websites, mobile applications, consent platforms, and enterprise data sources using connectors, APIs, webhooks, custom actions, and batch/streaming interfaces.
• Implement email, SMS, push, and in-app channels, including deliverability, consent, suppression, and preference controls.
• Leverage AJO and Marketo AI capabilities for content generation, decisioning, personalization, send-time optimization, and campaign/lead operations.
• Validate data, test journeys and campaigns, troubleshoot platform and integration issues, and support releases and production stabilization.

Required Skills

• Hands-on implementation experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer and Adobe Marketo Engage.
• Experience integrating marketing platforms with AEP, RT-CDP, Salesforce or another enterprise CRM.
• Understanding REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication, event-driven integrations, and batch processing.
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS, with working knowledge of JavaScript and Velocity scripting.
• Knowledge of email deliverability, domain authentication, consent, preferences, privacy, and suppression controls.
• Experience with testing, data validation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Consulting or client-facing experience, including requirements gathering, solution workshops, and stakeholder communication.
• Understanding of AJO/Marketo AI capabilities, prompt design, brand controls, privacy considerations, and validation of AI-generated marketing content.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, or Data Extensions.
• Experience with AJO B2B Edition, including account and buying-group based audiences, journeys, and B2B engagement use cases
• Understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud integrations with Salesforce CRM or Data Cloud.
