Job description

Overview

This role is designed for a strong Java developer who will be trained and ramped into Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and/or ClaimCenter. We are not looking for beginners. We are looking for engineers who already know how to build enterprise-grade systems and are ready to upskill fast and deliver in a regulated insurance environment.

You will start with Java-heavy responsibilities and progressively take ownership of Guidewire configuration, Gosu development, integrations, and production-grade delivery.

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience in enterprise applications
• Prior experience working on large-scale, multi-module systems
• Exposure to any of the following domains is preferred: Insurance, BFSI, Healthcare, Telecom, or other regulated industries
• No prior Guidewire experience required, but strong willingness and discipline to upskill is mandatory

Core Technical Skills (Must Have)

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and object-oriented design
• Solid understanding of REST/SOAP services, JSON/XML, and API-based integrations
• Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
• Experience with build and deployment tools (Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines)
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and code optimization skills

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based components and integrations supporting Guidewire applications
• Gradually take ownership of Guidewire configuration and custom development
• Build and enhance APIs, batch jobs, and system integrations
• Work closely with onshore architects, business analysts, and QA teams
• Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering standards
• Troubleshoot production issues and deliver root-cause fixes
• Deliver committed work with predictable quality and timelines
