Responsibilities
- Manage technology standards across the functional area, ensuring development, understanding, and adherence globally.
- Set goals within the functional area that are delivered to appropriate Operations & Technology organizations.
- Contribute to IT Project Leadership to harmonize business and technology objectives and ensure teams are staffed and skilled.
- Create an environment that enables subject‑matter experts to work efficiently and deliver effectively.
- Manage execution of IT strategy and roadmap for the assigned technology area.
- Apply in‑depth understanding of engineering concepts and basic knowledge of related areas.
- Train and coach team members, manage performance, monitor quality, and address development needs.
- Make evaluative judgments based on complex information analysis, using multiple information sources.
- Negotiate with senior leaders and external parties.
- Assess risk in business decisions, uphold compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, and maintain the firm’s reputation.
- Supervise activities, create accountability, and report control issues transparently.
Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience in application development or systems analysis.
- Strong experience architecting enterprise‑scale applications.
- Extensive experience in programming and system analysis.
- Successful experience managing and implementing projects.
- Proven engineering experience building robust, scalable applications in the Capital Markets Technology industry.
- Ability to deploy and test application components through all layers of the stack.
- Proactive, independent work style with strong risk communication.
- Code review, test case review, and quality assurance expertise.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in global, complex financial services environments.
- Analytical and diagnostic skill set.
- Ability to adapt prioritization quickly in changing circumstances.
- Experience in a matrix environment with virtual teams.
- Operational process improvement track record.
- Leadership and project management skills.
Technical Skills
Must Have
- 9+ years of full‑stack development with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Java/JVM‑based languages (Java, Kotlin). Experience designing UI frameworks and microservices.
- Strong API development experience and ecosystem knowledge.
- Hands‑on experience with React, JavaScript, Java/Spring/Spring Cloud/Spring Data JPA/Boot microservices.
- Debugging, logging, and troubleshooting skills with test‑driven development using Jest, Cypress, JUnit, Mockito.
- Experience with public clouds (AWS, GCP) is an advantage.
- Experience with OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Tekton, UDeploy, Harness, NPM, Maven, Gradle).
- Unit testing and TDD implementation for software quality.
- Proficiency with SQL databases, MongoDB, Oracle.
Nice to Have
- Observability and monitoring stack experience.
- Knowledge of Gen AI productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Co‑Pilot, Devan).
- Experience with middleware such as Tibco RV, EMS, Solace, Kafka.
- Understanding of Python and Gen AI.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
