Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Java/Spring Boot developer to design, build, and deploy cloud-native microservices on AWS. You will implement APIs, integrate AWS services, and ensure robust testing.

The role requires strong SQL skills, Kafka experience, and active participation in an agile team with regular overlap across time zones. The candidate should have 5+ years of Java development, 2+ years of Spring Boot, and comfort with IST working hours and hybrid location.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 2+ years of Spring Boot experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/SQS/SNS/Aurora PostgreSQL/DocumentDB/EventBridge).
• Strong SQL skills including complex queries, transactions, and indexing.
• Experience with Kafka or another distributed messaging system.
• Solid unit and integration testing practices.
• Git workflow proficiency including feature branches, MR/PRs, and CI pipelines.
• Agile team experience with daily standups and design discussions.
• Experience migrating legacy systems to cloud-native architectures preferred.
• MongoDB or DocumentDB experience preferred.
• Docker and container-based development workflows preferred.
• State machine or complex event processing experience preferred.
• Drools or rules engine concepts preferred.
• Parallel-run or shadow-traffic validation experience preferred.
• Minimum 4-hour daily overlap with US Eastern time zone.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• IST shift timings 9 AM–6 PM with 4-hour overlap.
• Ability to work from the stated hybrid location.
