Job summary

Jobtailor in India is seeking a senior software architect to lead design and development of scalable, secure enterprise applications. The role focuses on architecture, cloud-native solutions, and DevOps practices to deliver high-performance, resilient software across complex environments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive modernization, optimize data-intensive systems, and implement scalable patterns using Spring Boot, Java, and Kubernetes in a multinational context.

Qualifications

Significant experience in software engineering, software or database design and architecture.
Experience developing software within a DevOps and Agile framework.
Expert understanding of latest market trends, technologies and tools.
Significant and demonstrable experience implementing programming best practice, especially scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance.
Strong background leading software development teams in a matrix structure and executing technical strategies.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer software with customer or user experience as the primary objective.
Contribute to architecture, design and engineering centre of excellence.
Create customer outcomes through engineering, innovative solutions, and customer-centric, high-performance, secure and robust technology designs.
Work with software engineers to prototype innovative ideas.
Engage with domain and enterprise architects to validate and incorporate relevant architectures.
Design and develop software automating build, test and deployment activities.
Define, create, oversee and govern engineering and design solutions focused on automation, simplification, resilience, security, performance, scalability and reusability.
Work within platform or feature teams to design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools for bank platforms, applications and services.
Act as a point of contact for solution design considerations.
Define and develop architecture models and roadmaps for application and software components.
Drive common usability across products and domains.
Design, produce, test and implement working code.
Apply Agile methods and DevOps techniques to software development.
Develop software engineering discipline across the business.

Requirements

12+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and enterprise application development within complex, large-scale environments
Proven expertise designing scalable, resilient, and high-performance applications
Hands-on experience with GCP, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modernization of legacy enterprise platforms
Strong experience with Sybase and PostgreSQL databases, distributed caching technologies such as Oracle Coherence, and performance optimization of data-intensive applications
Strong ownership and analytical skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions
