Job summary

East India Udyog is seeking a senior IT/SAP leader to define and drive the organization's SAP strategy and transformation agenda in alignment with business priorities. You will oversee SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, PS, SD, DMS), ensure system availability, and guide architecture, integration and security initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of SAP/IT experience with leadership responsibility.

• Strong business process understanding across SAP FI, CO, MM, PS, SD and DMS.
• Experience managing both SAP applications and enterprise IT infrastructure/operations.
• Exposure to IT Service Delivery, IT Operations, Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.

Role & responsibilities :

IT & SAP Strategy and Transformation

• Define and execute the organization's IT & SAP strategy, technology roadmap, architecture and transformation agenda in alignment with business priorities.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, system integration and digital transformation across business functions.
• Develop scalable and sustainable technology architecture capable of supporting organizational growth.

SAP Application Leadership

• Own SAP application services and ensure high levels of availability, performance, business continuity and SLA compliance.
• Provide strategic and functional oversight across SAP FI, CO, MM, PS, SD and DMS, including associated business processes and integrations.
• Bring strong hands‑on understanding of SAP FI/CO, PS, MM and SD.
• Review and guide functional and technical solution designs, solution maps, custom developments, integrations and SAP enhancements.
• Ensure SAP solutions maintain architectural integrity, scalability, security and long‑term maintainability.
• Lead SAP application support and oversee incident, problem, change and release management, ensuring timely resolution of business‑critical issues.
• Drive effective utilization and continuous improvement of SAP S/4HANA across business functions.

Business Partnership

• Act as the key technology interface between Business Unit Heads, Functional Heads, Power Users and the IT/SAP team.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into practical, scalable and cost‑effective technology solutions.
• Participate in business and user‑group meetings to prioritize technology requirements based on business value, risk, feasibility, resources, timelines and budgets.
• Drive user adoption and ensure technology investments translate into measurable business outcomes.

IT Infrastructure & Operations

• Own and manage enterprise IT infrastructure and operations, including servers, databases, operating systems, networks, backup systems, disaster recovery and cloud/hybrid environments.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, performance and security of the organization's technology infrastructure.
• Establish robust monitoring, backup, recovery and business continuity mechanisms.

IT Governance, Security & Compliance

• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Security, SAP Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and IT Process Controls.
• Establish and enforce appropriate IT/SAP standards, SOPs, documentation, quality assurance and governance frameworks.
• Ensure technology operations comply with applicable organizational, statutory and information‑security requirements.
• Periodically assess technology risks and implement appropriate mitigation and control measures.

Vendor, Budget & Commercial Management

• Manage relationships with SAP partners, OEMs, technology vendors, consultants and managed service providers.
• Establish and monitor contractual commitments, deliverables and SLA performance.
• Own annual IT & SAP budgets, licensing, resource planning and vendor commercials.
• Drive technology cost optimization while maintaining service quality, security and business continuity.
• Identify and deliver measurable savings through licensing optimization, vendor negotiations and technology rationalization.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, mentor and develop the SAP and IT teams while establishing clear accountability and performance standards.
• Build strong internal SAP and technology capabilities to reduce excessive dependency on external partners.
• Ensure effective documentation, knowledge transfer and succession planning across critical IT/SAP functions.
• Develop a culture of service orientation, innovation, accountability and continuous improvement within the technology function.

Preferred candidate profile

• 15+ years of SAP/IT experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience leading successful end‑to‑end SAP implementations, migrations and/or rollouts as SAP Head, IT Head, Program Manager, Project Manager or equivalent.
• Strong hands‑on understanding of SAP S/4HANA and SAP architecture.
• Strong functional/business‑process understanding of SAP FI, CO, MM, PS, SD and DMS.
• Demonstrated experience managing both SAP applications and enterprise IT infrastructure/operations.
• Strong exposure to IT Service Delivery, IT Operations, Cybersecurity, SAP Security, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
• Proven experience in IT budgeting, licensing, vendor management and commercial negotiations.
• Experience working in an EPC, infrastructure, engineering or project‑driven organization will be strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management or a related discipline.
• Relevant SAP, ITIL, Project Management, Cloud or Information Security certifications will be an advantage.
