Job summary

Citi is seeking an IT Systems Administrator at an intermediate–senior level to manage and evolve Jira and Confluence Cloud platforms at scale in Pune, India. The role centers on configuring a unified Jira Cloud template, automations, and data-driven reporting to support PMO, programme, and portfolio governance.

You’ll work on Data Center migrations to Jira Cloud while enabling AI‑assisted workflows and knowledge management modernization.

Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience with Atlassian estate and automations.
• Python and PowerShell used to automate administration, reporting and integrations.
• Experience building dashboards/reports using Jira/Confluence, APIs, SQL, Power BI, Tableau.
• Integrations with GitHub, ScriptRunner, Zephyr, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines.
• Understand SDLC and apply it to controlled deployment in regulated environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across cross‑functional teams.

Job description

Intermediate–senior level role IT Systems Administrator with strong experience in administering and developing Atlassian. The role focuses on configuring, standardizing, automating, and evolving Jira and Confluence Cloud platforms at scale. While a primary objective is the migration of multiple Data Center instances to a governed Jira Cloud operating model, the role will also support modernization of work management, reporting, knowledge management, and AI-enabled delivery capabilities across project, programme, PMO, and portfolio functions.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain a single target Jira Cloud template (issue types, workflows, fields, schemes, permissions) and reusable project patterns across iterative and agile delivery models
• Use Cloud Migration tools (e.g. JCMA) and sandbox dry‑runs to orchestrate discovery, mapping, freeze, execution, and aftercare per migration; perform pre/post checks, reconcile key IDs/links, and coordinate go/no‑go.
• Replace on-prem‑only plug‑ins with cloud equivalents or native capabilities (i.e. use ScriptRunner to enable automations and validations; Zephyr Enterprise as standard test management; Git integrations for GitHub, Lightspeed, Release on Demand
• Design and maintain Jira/Confluence Cloud automations and scripted behaviours (e.g., field validation, standardized transitions, evidence extraction), leveraging automation and AI‑assisted workflows where appropriate to improve delivery efficiency and governance.
• Configure JSM portals, automations, and reporting to support ITSM/incident flows and access processes.
• Build enterprise dashboards, migration reporting, and decision‑support metrics for PMO, programme, portfolio and executive consumers; contribute to data‑driven reporting and management information capabilities.
• Act as migration SME with functional champions; support wave capacity planning, success metrics, and enable standardization.
• Risk & controls: Maintain auditable migration evidence (pre/post DQ checks, sign‑offs, RCA post‑restoration), ensure compliance with policies, and participate in control assessments.
• Support the development of reusable reporting, automation, and AI‑enabled capabilities utilizing Jira, Confluence, and related management data sources to improve planning, governance, and execution visibility.
• Support Confluence Cloud standardization and migration activities including content organization, governance, automation, metadata management, and knowledge‑management modernization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience of the Atlassian estate with demonstrable experience of building complex integration and automations.
• Ability to use scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell to automate administration, reporting, integrations, and operational processes
• Experience building dashboards, reporting solutions, or management‑information capabilities using Jira, Confluence, APIs, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent technologies
• Experience integrating Atlassian platforms with development, testing, automation, and cloud technologies (e.g. GitHub, ScriptRunner, Zephyr, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines)
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and ability to apply this to system administration tasks ensuring all changes are thoroughly tested and deployed in a controlled manner.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working with cross‑functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage complex systems efficiently.
• Experience of working in a highly regulated industry would be beneficial.
• Ability to manage a range of stakeholders across the Bank. Demonstrated ability to both work independently and partner with virtual teams in a high‑pressure matrix environment
• Thorough understanding of IT security and compliance and the importance of these in a regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification in Atlassian administration.
• Experience in financial services or large complex and/or global environment preferred
• Experience evaluating or implementing AI, automation, Agentic AI, or AI‑assisted workflow capabilities to improve delivery, reporting, operational efficiency, or knowledge discovery
