Jira Product Lead / Atlassian Platform Owner

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Jira Product Lead / Atlassian Platform Owner to drive the strategic direction, governance, enhancement, and adoption of the Atlassian ecosystem, primarily Jira Cloud and Confluence. This is a highly consultative and hands-on role requiring a blend of technical expertise, solution design capability, and stakeholder management skills.

Note: This is not a BAU or operational support role. The selected candidate will be expected to act as a product owner for the Jira platform, influencing decisions, designing solutions, and leading platform modernization initiatives.

Experience Requirements

Mandatory Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with Atlassian products.
• Strong and proven experience with:
  • Jira Cloud (Mandatory)
  • Confluence
• Candidates with 6-8 years of total professional experience are acceptable, provided they have at least 5 years of dedicated Atlassian experience.
• Atlassian experience must be core and hands-on, not merely exposure as part of broader IT responsibilities.
• Experience with Jira Cloud is required.
• Candidates with experience limited to Jira Server or Jira Data Center without Jira Cloud exposure will not be considered.

Platform Ownership & Leadership

• Act as the functional and technical owner of the Jira platform.

• Translate business needs into scalable Jira and Confluence solutions.
• Provide recommendations on platform capabilities, roadmap, and optimization opportunities.
• Influence decision-making through expertise and strategic guidance.

Technical Skills & Expertise

Atlassian Administration

• Advanced administration experience in:
  • Jira Cloud
  • Confluence
• Configuration and management of:
  • Workflows
  • Schemes
  • Permissions
  • Automation rules
  • Custom fields
  • Dashboards and reporting

Solution Design & Integration

• Proven experience designing and implementing solutions beyond standard out-of-the-box Jira capabilities.
• Hands-on experience integrating Jira and Confluence with enterprise applications and third-party systems.
• Experience working with integrations involving:
  • Snowflake
  • Linux-based systems
  • Enterprise business applications
  • Other external platforms and services

Migration Experience

• Experience planning and executing Atlassian migration projects.
• Understanding of migration best practices, data transformation, and platform consolidation initiatives.

Development & Automation

Required

• Hands-on scripting experience in one or more of the following:
  • Python
  • Shell Scripting
  • Other relevant scripting languages
• Ability to develop custom automations and technical solutions to enhance platform capabilities.

Preferred

• Experience with DevOps tools and processes.
• Experience building advanced integrations, custom workflows, or automation frameworks within the Atlassian ecosystem.

Not Required

• AI/ML development experience is not required.
