  • Represent the department in policy discussions and manage budgets.

Position

We seek an IT Manager to lead our Information Technology department at the Asian Heart Institute. This role is critical for ensuring data availability, preventing data loss and corruption, and maintaining an efficient IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to drive the adoption of innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • IT Department Management
    • Organize and manage the IT department to deliver high-quality support and innovation.
    • Develop and implement short-term and long-term departmental goals.
    • Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO).
    • Maintain effective communication and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Data & Network Management
    • Supervise daily tape backups, scheduling reports, and database management systems (DBMS).
    • Optimize Oracle table-spaces to enhance the Hospital Information System's performance.
    • Monitor network load and external connectivity, including firewall security and broadband access.
  • Risk & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain interconnectivity and functionality of IT equipment (PCs, printers, drives).
    • Develop disaster recovery strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Staff Training & Development
    • Provide IT orientation and ongoing training for employees.
    • Mentor IT staff and monitor their performance through appraisals and feedback.
    • Support educational experiences for IT project trainees and encourage staff participation in seminars.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Act as a departmental representative in conflict resolution and policy discussions.
    • Maintain departmental ISO audit reports and ensure adherence to ISO principles.
    • Manage departmental budgets and oversee cost control measures.
Qualifications
  • BE, B-Tech, MScin IT or related field, orMCA/BScwith PGDCA.
  • 5+ years experiencein IT.
  • 2+ years experience with Hospital IT Systems.
