Job summary

SustainEdge Consulting is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Support Engineer to manage day-to-day IT operations for our school clients in Bengaluru. This on-site role requires close collaboration with teachers, admin staff, and IT colleagues to keep computers, networks, and classroom technology operational.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot desktops and peripherals, maintain Windows endpoints, ensure reliable LAN/Wi‑Fi, and uphold documentation and asset records.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on IT infrastructure, desktop, and network support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience with LAN, Wi‑Fi, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
• Experience with printers, projectors, interactive displays and peripherals.
• Familiarity with switches, routers, firewalls and access points.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration is a plus.
• Experience with endpoint security, backups and IT asset management.
• Ability to diagnose problems independently and document clearly.

Role Overview

SustainEdge Consulting is looking for an experienced and hands‑on IT Infrastructure & Support Engineer to support the IT operations of our school clients in Bengaluru.

This is an on‑site role within a school environment and requires someone who is comfortable working closely with teachers, administrative staff, management and other IT team members.

The role involves day‑to‑day IT support as well as responsibility for ensuring that the school's computers, networks, internet connectivity, classroom technology and other IT infrastructure remain operational.

The candidate should be technically competent, service‑oriented and willing to take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day IT infrastructure and end‑user support across the school campus.
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, interactive panels and other classroom IT equipment.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows desktops and laptops.
• Support LAN, Wi‑Fi and internet connectivity and perform basic network troubleshooting.
• Support switches, access points, routers, firewalls and related network infrastructure in coordination with senior team members/vendors where required.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions and basic Microsoft 365/email‑related administration.
• Install and maintain standard software, antivirus, endpoint security and system updates.
• Diagnose hardware and software issues and coordinate repairs/replacements with vendors.
• Support IT requirements for classrooms, computer labs, school events, examinations and administrative activities.
• Maintain IT asset records, system inventory and documentation.
• Coordinate with internet service providers and other technology vendors for issue resolution.
• Perform preventive maintenance and proactively identify infrastructure issues.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately and follow them through until closure.
• Provide support at other school campuses when required.
• Assist with infrastructure planning and implementation for new classrooms, facilities or campuses.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone with:

• 3–5 years of hands‑on IT infrastructure / desktop / network support experience.
• Good knowledge of Windows systems and desktop/laptop troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of LAN, Wi‑Fi, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and basic network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting printers, projectors, interactive displays and peripherals.
• Basic understanding of switches, routers, firewalls and access points.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration will be an advantage.
• Experience with endpoint security, antivirus, backups and IT asset management.
• Ability to diagnose problems independently rather than simply escalating them.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A disciplined approach to documentation and issue tracking.

Important – Nature of the Role

This is not a remote or work‑from‑home IT role.

The candidate will be stationed primarily at a school campus and must be comfortable working in a school environment, interacting regularly with teachers, administrative teams and school management.

The role is hands‑on and requires the person to be approachable, patient and responsive while maintaining professional discipline.

The primary work location will be one school campus, but the candidate should be willing to travel to other campuses within Bengaluru when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or a related discipline.
• Certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft, CompTIA or equivalent will be an advantage but are not mandatory.
• Previous experience supporting schools, colleges, hospitals, hotels or other multi‑user on‑site environments would be useful.
