IT Executive – Hardware, Networking & IT Support

Department: Information Technology

About the Role

We are looking for a technically skilled and responsible IT Executive to manage day-to-day IT infrastructure, hardware, networking, system support, and troubleshooting across the organization's campuses and offices.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of computers, networking infrastructure, internet connectivity, CCTV, biometric systems, printers, servers, and other IT-enabled systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Hardware & System Support

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, and other IT equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues within defined timelines.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance of IT assets.
  • Maintain proper records of IT equipment, repairs, replacements, and service history.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware repair, replacement, warranty, and AMC-related matters.

2. Network & Internet Management

  • Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, access points, and other networking equipment.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, internet, and Wi-Fi-related issues.
  • Coordinate with Internet Service Providers and networking vendors for service-related problems.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, and access points as required.
  • Monitor network performance and identify recurring connectivity issues.
  • Ensure proper network access and connectivity across classrooms, offices, laboratories, and other facilities.

3. IT Infrastructure & Security

  • Maintain IT infrastructure across different campuses and administrative offices.
  • Ensure basic IT security practices, including password management, access control, antivirus, system updates, and backup procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain CCTV, biometric attendance, access-control systems, and other technology-enabled security systems.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving unauthorized device or network access issues.

4. Software & Application Support

  • Install and configure operating systems, applications, drivers, and required software.
  • Provide technical support to employees, faculty members, and administrative staff.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to official email, online applications, cloud-based platforms, and other institutional software.
  • Assist users with basic IT-related queries and provide timely resolution.

5. IT Asset Management

  • Maintain an updated IT Asset Register covering computers, laptops, printers, networking equipment, CCTV equipment, biometric devices, and other IT assets.
  • Track asset allocation, movement, repair, replacement, and disposal.
  • Conduct periodic physical verification of IT assets.
  • Report damaged, missing, obsolete, or non-functional equipment to the management.
  • Coordinate with AMC/service providers for timely maintenance and repair of IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain records of service calls, complaints, downtime, and resolution status.
  • Follow up with vendors until issues are completely resolved.
  • Verify service completion before closing maintenance requests.

7. Backup & Data Management

  • Assist in maintaining regular backups of important institutional data.
  • Monitor backup status and report any failure or data-access issue immediately.
  • Follow organizational guidelines regarding data security and confidentiality.

8. MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare regular IT status reports for management.
  • Maintain records of complaints, resolutions, downtime, maintenance, and pending issues.
  • Provide daily/weekly reports as required by the reporting authority.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all IT-related activities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Timely resolution of IT support tickets and technical complaints.
  • Network and internet uptime.
  • Timely preventive maintenance of IT infrastructure.
  • Accuracy and regular updating of IT asset registers.
  • Timely coordination and follow-up with service providers.
  • Reduction in recurring technical issues and downtime.
  • Proper maintenance of IT documentation and reports.
  • User satisfaction with IT support services.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Relevant IT certifications will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and common business applications.
  • Basic understanding of IT security and data backup.
  • Knowledge of CCTV and biometric systems will be an advantage.
  • Good vendor coordination and follow-up skills.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple technical issues simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
  • 1–4 years of experience in IT support, hardware, networking, or infrastructure management.
  • Experience in an educational institution, corporate office, hospital, or multi-location organization will be preferred.
Working Requirements
  • Willingness to travel between institutional campuses/offices whenever required.
  • Ability to respond to urgent technical issues when required.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and maintain proper documentation.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and service orientation.
