Job summary

Fujitsu is seeking an experienced Senior IT Development Manager to lead software development teams delivering large-scale enterprise and retail technology solutions. You will drive modernization initiatives, define architecture, and ensure scalable, secure, and high-quality delivery.

You will mentor engineers, engage with stakeholders, and guide cloud-native modernization, CI/CD, and DevSecOps across multiple locations in the country.

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior IT Development Manager to lead software development teams in delivering large-scale enterprise and retail technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in modern software development technologies, application modernization, software architecture design, automated testing, and technical leadership. This role requires a combination of technical excellence, people management, stakeholder engagement, and customer-facing consulting capabilities. The successful candidate will drive development strategy, mentor development teams, design scalable solutions, and ensure successful project delivery aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Solution Delivery

• Lead and manage software development teams delivering enterprise-grade applications and digital platforms.
• Drive application modernization initiatives, including legacy system transformation, cloud migration, microservices adoption, and API-driven architectures.
• Define and govern software architecture, coding standards, development frameworks, and technical best practices.
• Review solution designs and ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies, development frameworks, and industry best practices.

Application Development & Modernization

• Lead modernization programs covering:
  • Legacy application transformation
  • Cloud-native development
  • Microservices architecture
  • Container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • CI/CD implementation
  • DevSecOps adoption
• Guide teams in adopting modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Recommend suitable technical solutions based on business requirements.

Test Automation & Quality Engineering

• Establish automated testing strategies and testing governance.
• Drive implementation of:
  • Unit Testing
  • Integration Testing
  • Automated Regression Testing
  • Performance Testing
  • Continuous Testing
• Work closely with QA teams to improve software quality and release reliability.
• Ensure quality engineering practices are embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. Related internal development guidance references automated mobile application testing and test automation practices.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Manage and mentor software engineers, technical leads, architects, and development teams.
• Conduct technical coaching, capability development, and succession planning.
• Support recruitment, performance development, and retention of high-performing technical talent.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage directly with customers, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive sponsors.
• Lead technical workshops, solution presentations, and architecture discussions.
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Project & Delivery Management

• Manage project delivery across scope, schedule, quality, risks, and budget.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, QA Leads, and Infrastructure teams.
• Oversee resource planning and development capacity management.
• Support proposal development, effort estimation, and solution sizing activities.
• Prior project management experience is highly preferred.

Required Qualifications

Mandatory

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Software Development.
• Minimum 5+ years in Technical Leadership or Development Management roles.
• Strong experience in software architecture design and enterprise application development.
• Strong knowledge of modern software development methodologies.
• Experience leading development teams of 5-10+ members.
• Good English communication skills (Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Presentation).
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience managing Digital Transformation or Application Modernization projects.
• Experience in Retail, Commerce, Distribution, or Consumer Business industries.
• Experience leading large-scale modernization or cloud migration programs. Modernization experience is aligned with enterprise modernization initiatives documented internally.
