Job summary

F(x) Data Labs is seeking a versatile IT Business Analyst who can blend product discovery with client-facing service delivery in a hybrid role. You will translate ambiguous requirements into actionable specs and coordinate across product and services teams.

Responsibilities span product-side discovery, services-side process analysis, and cross-cutting liaison tasks. You will work with stakeholders, guide workshops, and produce clear documentation for delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, CS, information systems or related field.
• 2+ years as a Business Analyst with product and services exposure.
• Strong requirements elicitation, documentation (BRD/FRD/user stories), and stakeholder communication.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall/hybrid delivery models.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Excel/Sheets, and diagramming tools (Visio/Lucidchart/draw.io).
• Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into business insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to varied audiences.

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile IT Business Analyst who can work across both our product and services lines of business. This is a hybrid role suited to someone comfortable switching between structured product discovery (feature definition, roadmaps, backlogs) and client-facing service engagements (scoping, process analysis, stakeholder management). You'll act as the bridge between business needs and delivery teams, translating ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Product-side

• Gather, document, and prioritize product requirements from internal stakeholders, customers, and market feedback
• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for engineering and design teams
• Support product roadmap planning by analyzing usage data, feature requests, and competitive trends
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX teams during discovery and backlog grooming

Services-side

• Work directly with clients to understand business processes, pain points, and project objectives
• Conduct as-is/to-be process analysis and produce process maps, SOPs, and gap analyses
• Translate client requirements into scope documents, SOWs, or functional/technical specs for delivery teams
• Support pre-sales or proposal efforts with effort estimation and solution framing

Cross-cutting

• Act as liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership
• Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and UAT cycles
• Create wireframes, flowcharts, and data models to support requirement clarity (e.g., using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar)
• Track project progress, flag risks/dependencies, and support prioritization decisions
• Prepare status reports, dashboards, and documentation for stakeholders at varying levels of seniority

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with exposure to both product-based and service/client-delivery environments
• Strong skills in requirement elicitation, documentation (BRD/FRD/user stories), and stakeholder communication
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and basic understanding of Waterfall/hybrid delivery models
• Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel/Google Sheets, and diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, or draw.io)
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate it into business insights
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience working in a consulting, IT services, or SaaS product company
• Exposure to SQL or basic data analysis/BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PSPO, or similar
• Familiarity with API/integration concepts if working alongside technical product teams
• Experience supporting pre-sales, RFPs, or client proposals
