Interior Designer Site visits, Design & Quotation Responsibilities
1. Client Requirement & Site Discussion
- Attend client meetings and understand their requirements, lifestyle, preferences and expectations.
- Visit project sites and take accurate measurements and photographs.
- Conduct room-wise discussions covering kitchen, wardrobes, living room, bedrooms, TV unit, etc.
- Understand the client's tentative budget and suggest suitable design/material options.
- Explain the company's design approach, materials, process and scope of work.
2. Design Development
- Prepare space planning and furniture layouts based on client requirements.
- Develop 2D drawings, 3D views and design concepts.
- Design kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, bedrooms, living areas and other interior spaces.
- Select suitable materials, laminates, colours, hardware and finishes.
- Revise designs based on client feedback while considering functionality and budget.
3. Quotation Preparation & Submission
- Prepare the project scope of work and quotation based on the approved/selected design requirements.
- Calculate approximate quantities and coordinate with the quotation/accounts team for pricing.
- Ensure the quotation includes proper specifications, materials, brands, finishes and exclusions.
- Check the quotation for accuracy before submitting it to the client.
- Present and explain the quotation to the client clearly.
- Explain the difference between material options, specifications and pricing.
- Handle client questions regarding pricing, scope and specifications.
- Record any changes requested by the client and update the quotation accordingly.
- Follow up with the client after quotation submission and coordinate with the sales team for closure.
- Ensure that no price, material or scope commitment is given without company approval.
4. Client Follow-up & Conversion
- Maintain regular communication with assigned clients.
- Follow up on pending designs, quotations and approvals.
- Understand client objections and provide practical solutions.
- Coordinate with the sales/management team for negotiation and finalisation.
- Obtain necessary client approvals before moving to the next stage.
5. Design & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain working drawings and design details.
- Maintain the latest approved version of drawings.
- Document client changes and approvals.
- Maintain material and finish specifications.
- Properly hand over approved designs and specifications to the execution team.
Key Performance Responsibility
To understand the client's requirements, convert them into practical interior designs, prepare and present accurate quotations, follow up for approval, and coordinate with the execution team to ensure the approved design is delivered as committed.
