Job summary

Meril, a leading Indian medical devices company, seeks an instrumentation technician to calibrate instruments, troubleshoot sensors and valves, and support PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems in production environments.

The role requires reading P&ID and loop diagrams, performing loop checks, and assisting with commissioning activities while adhering to safety procedures and rigorous documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming and process control.
• Ability to read P&ID and loop diagrams.
• Knowledge of 4–20 mA, 24 VDC signals.

Responsibilities

• Perform instrument calibration and prepare calibration reports.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation faults in sensors, transmitters, valves, and signal wiring.
• Work with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
• Read P&ID, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings.
• Perform loop checking and assist commissioning activities.
• Maintain documentation such as inspection reports, calibration records, and maintenance history.
• Follow plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and maintenance standards.

Job Description

• Perform instrument calibration and prepare calibration reports.
  
• Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and identify problems in sensors, transmitters, control valves, and signal wiring.
  
• Work with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
  
• Understand and work with P&ID, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings.
  
• Perform loop checking and assist with commissioning activities.
  
• Check 4–20 mA, 24 VDC, digital signals, and analogue I/O.
  
• Follow plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and maintenance standards.
  
• Maintain documentation such as inspection reports, calibration records, and maintenance history.
