Job summary

Attero Recycling in Pune, India seeks a hands-on Instrumentation Engineer/Technician to manage installation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of field instrumentation and control systems in our manufacturing facility.

You will work with transmitters, controllers, PLC/SCADA/HMI; perform preventive and breakdown maintenance; ensure safety compliance; 3–5 years of Diploma in Instrumentation required; location Ranjangaon, Pune.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in industrial instrumentation and automation.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field instruments (TT, PT, FT, LT, limit switches, weighing scales, laser sensors).
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance as per schedules.
• Maintain calibration records, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
• Work with AC/DC voltage systems and diagnose instrument-related electrical faults.
• Handle analog (4-20 mA, 0-10 V) and digital (HART, Fieldbus) signals.
• Configure, tune, and troubleshoot PID controllers.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
• Support control logic modifications and fault diagnosis.
• Ensure proper functioning of safety interlock systems and control loops.
• Coordinate with production and process teams to resolve instrumentation issues.
• Support plant reliability and uptime through timely corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards during maintenance and installation.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Instrumentation Engineer/Technician to manage the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation and control systems within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should possess hands‑on experience in instrumentation, automation systems, and process control applications while ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Instrumentation & Maintenance

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field instruments such as:
  • Temperature Transmitters (TT)
  • Pressure Transmitters (PT)
  • Flow Transmitters (FT)
  • Level Transmitters (LT)
  • Limit switches
  • Weighing scales
  • Laser sensors
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules.
• Maintain calibration records, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.

Automation & Control Systems

• Work with AC/DC voltage systems and diagnose instrument-related electrical faults.
• Handle analog (4-20 mA, 0-10 V) and digital communication systems (HART, Fieldbus).
• Configure, tune, and troubleshoot PID controllers for process control applications.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
• Support control logic modifications and fault diagnosis in automation systems.
• Ensure proper functioning of safety interlock systems and control loops.

Operational Support

• Coordinate with production and process teams to resolve instrumentation-related issues.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, voltage, and current principles.
• Hands‑on experience with analog and digital instrumentation signals.
• Expertise in PID controller tuning and process loop optimization.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or equivalent).
• Experience with SCADA and HMI systems.
• Familiarity with industrial transmitters, switches, and sensor technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, instrument loop diagrams, and electrical drawings.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in industrial instrumentation and automation.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in process manufacturing, recycling, metals, chemical, cement, power, oil & gas, or similar industrial environments will be preferred.
