Job summary

R.M. Phosphates & Chemicals is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Engineer to ensure reliable operation of plant instrumentation systems. You will plan maintenance, calibration, and improvements aligned with production and safety requirements.

Responsibilities include preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, diagnosing instrument breakdowns, and coordinating with vendors for project execution to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of field instruments, PLC/DCS, control systems, and industrial automation.
  • Hands-on experience in calibration, loop checking, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of safety standards like ISO, OSHA, or similar in fertilizer/chemical/cement industries.
  • Good documentation and analytical skills.
  • Vendor management and spare part planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation.
  • Diagnose breakdowns in pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters, and DCS/PLC systems.
  • Ensure periodic calibration per OEM and statutory requirements.
  • Assist installation, commissioning, and modification of instrumentation for new projects.
  • Monitor control loops to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and safety.
  • Maintain documentation of calibration certificates, spares, and downtime analysis.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for project execution.

Job Description

To ensure reliable, efficient, and safe functioning of all plant instrumentation systems by planning, maintaining, calibrating, and improving instrumentation and control systems in alignment with production and safety requirements.

Instrumentation Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of plant instrumentation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve breakdowns of instruments like pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, control valves, DCS/PLC systems, analyzers, and sensors.
Calibration & Compliance
  • Ensure periodic calibration of all field instruments as per OEM and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation of calibration certificates and audit compliance.
Project & Modification Support
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of instrumentation and control systems for new projects or plant expansions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for project execution.
System Reliability & Optimization
  • Monitor control loops and optimize performance for better productivity, energy efficiency, and safety.
  • Suggest and implement upgrades to improve reliability of equipment and reduce downtime.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain records of instrumentation history, spares consumption, and downtime analysis.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and present improvement plans to management.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all plant safety procedures and statutory norms related to instrumentation.
  • Conduct safety audits of instruments, interlocks, and emergency shutdown systems.
Team Coordination
  • Work closely with production, electrical, and mechanical teams for smooth plant operations.
  • Guide technicians and contract staff on instrumentation best practices.
