Job summary

Tractebel in India is seeking an Instrumentation Designer to execute detail engineering for power and oil & gas projects, focusing on instrumentation systems, drawings, and standards.

You will prepare system configuration drawings for DCS and PLC, design control room layouts, and develop instrument installations using AutoCAD and related tools. Collaborative, with 3D modelling support.

Qualifications

• Experience with instrumentation detail engineering for power and oil&gas projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for instrument layouts.
• Knowledge of DCS/PLC configuration drawings and control room layouts.
• Experience with 3D model integration and clash-free design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare system configuration drawings for DCS, PLC and other control systems per project specs.
• Prepare instrument, JB, F&G, and field instrument layouts using AutoCAD.
• Develop cable tray layouts and extract layouts from S3D/SP3D models.
• Support 3D modelling of instrument cables, main trays and field instruments.
• Prepare instrument installation and process hook-up drawings per standards.
• Assist in cable tray MTO for procurement and estimation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for model integration and clash-free design.
• Support design reviews and updates during detail engineering.

Job Description - Instrumentation Designer

Responsible for detail engineering activities related to instrumentation for power, O&G projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of System configuration drawings for DCS. PLC and other control system as per project specifications and applicable standards.


• Preparation of Control room layouts, Electronic equipment room and other Local control rooms


• Preparation of Instrument, Junction Box (JB), Fire & Gas (F&G), Process Hook-up, and Field Instrument Air Tubing layouts using AutoCAD.


• Development support of cable tray layouts using AutoCAD including extraction of layouts from S3D/SP3D models.


• support to 3D modelling of instrument cable trays, main cable trays, field instruments, junction boxes, Fire & Gas devices, and telecommunication equipment using AutoCAD and 3D.


• Preparation of instrument installation hook-up and process hook-up drawings in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.


• Support to the Development of secondary cable tray support installation details for field execution.


• Support to the Generation of Cable Tray Material Take-Off (MTO) for procurement and project estimation.


• Coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure accurate model integration and clash-free design in 3D


• Assisting and updating of engineering deliverables such as cable routing, Schedule and interconnection wiring diagrams in compliance with client specifications, project requirements, and industry standards.


• Support design reviews, model reviews, and incorporation of review comments during the detail engineering phase.
