Aarti Industries is seeking an experienced Instrumentation 3D Modeler to develop detailed 3D models for DCS control rooms, including control panels, cabinets, racks, and furniture layouts. You will route cables, model ELV systems, and create plant-wide instrument models aligned with P&IDs and project specs.
You will coordinate across Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical teams, perform clash detection with Navisworks, and generate accurate 2D drawings and BOMs from the model for
3D Modeling & Design
Develop detailed 3D models for the DCS Control Room, including control panels, operator consoles, marshalling cabinets, server racks, and furniture layouts.
Model intricate cable tray and conduit routing below the false flooring and above the false ceiling in the control room and other buildings.
Model Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems, such as fire and gas detectors, beacons, speakers, and CCTV cameras, on ceilings and walls.
Create comprehensive plant-wide 3D models for instrumentation systems, including:
Primary and secondary cable tray/conduit routing on piperacks, structures, and sleepers.
Modeling of underground and above-ground cable trenches, ensuring proper coyordination with other underground services.
Placement and modeling of Junction Boxes (JBs), Air Headers, and associated piping/tubing.
Precise modeling of inline instruments (e.g., control valves, flow meters, analyzers) based on P&IDs.
Reviewing & preparation of JB & cable schedule , Hook up
Modeling of offline instruments (e.g., pressure, level, temperature transmitters) complete with their instrument stanchions, stands, and supports.
2. Inter-Disciplinary Coordination & Clash Management
Proactively coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical) to integrate the instrumentation model.
Utilize Navisworks Manage to perform regular clash detection analysis, identify conflicts, and collaborate with relevant teams to find effective resolutions.
Participate in 3D model review meetings, presenting instrumentation designs and addressing feedback from the team.
3. 2D Drawing Extraction & Preparation
Generate and extract accurate 2D drawings directly from the approved 3D model.
Prepare and detail a variety of critical instrumentation drawings, including:
Instrument Location Layouts.
Main Cable Tray / Conduit Routing Layouts.
Cable Trench Layouts.
Junction Box and Air Header Location Layouts.
Control Room Layout and Details.
Instrumentation Hook-Up (Installation) Drawings for all instrument types.
Develop Material Take-Offs (MTOs) / Bill of Materials (BOMs) from the 3D model for procurement and construction.
4. Standards and Quality Assurance
Ensure all models and drawings adhere to AIL Design basis, project specifications, P&IDs, company standards, a
Systematically track model progress by ensuring instrument tag closure, maintaining a formal 3D model checklist, and resolving design punch points in a timely manner.
Maintain the integrity, quality, and accuracy of the 3D model and all extracted deliverables.
Perform rigorous self-checks on all work to ensure it is error-free before formal review.
A minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on experience as an Instrumentation 3D Modeler, preferably in the Chemicals or Petrochemical industry.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ electrical Engineering/ Intrumentation Engineering.
AVEVA E3D (or PDMS) ( Optional)
Autodesk Revit (for cable tray)
Autodesk Plant 3D
Autodesk AutoCAD (2D Drafting & Detailing)
Autodesk Navisworks Manage (Clash Detection & Model Review)
Strong understanding of various instrument types, their functions, and installation requirements.
Proven ability to read and interpret P&IDs,
In-depth knowledge of instrumentation standards, symbols, and best practices.
