Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an Engineering CAD designer in Vadodara to model field instruments, cableways, and layouts for E&I design. You will interpret P&IDs, ensure design consistency, and coordinate with process, electrical, piping, and instrument engineers.

The role requires experience with Intergraph S3D, Smart Review, AutoCAD or BricsCAD, and a Diploma in engineering. Strong teamwork and delivery of designs within codes are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D CAD for process plants and instrumentation.
• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and apply design standards.

Responsibilities

• Modelling of field instruments such as flow, pressure, temperature, level, and F&G equipment.
• Interpret P&IDs and ensure design consistency.
• Model cableways, trays, ducts and conduits.
• Coordinate with process, electrical, piping and instrument engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct 3D model reviews with clients and prepare MTOs.
• Prepare instrument location layouts and field hookup drawings.
• Plan cable routing layouts and support construction with clarifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Modelling of field instruments such as flow, pressure, temperature, level, and F&G equipment. For the same, interpret P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and ensure design consistency.
• Modelling of cableways e.g. cable tray, ducts, conduits.
• Work closely with process, electrical, piping, and instrument engineers to integrate instrumentation into plant design.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct 3D model reviews with clients.
• Prepare material take-offs (MTOs) for procurement and construction
• Instrument location layouts - field
• Fire & Gas (F&G) equipment location layouts - field
• Hook-up drawings
• Cable routing layouts
• Installation typical, process hook-ups
• Support construction teams with technical clarifications and field modifications.

Proficiency in following software as minimum:

• Intergraph S3D
• Model review software Smart Review
• AutoCAD/ BricksCAD
